Graal 4 Disconnects me :/
 

Today randomly out of no where everytime I log on graal my whole internet connection crashes :-/

On every server?

Are there other applications or firewalls running (don't mean to turn them off, just trying to figure out why its doing that) ?

No, no firewalls...and yes all servers

Out of curiosity, are you using RC2 while this happens as well?

yes i am on RC2 - Shangri-La...and am i the first person this has happend to? if i am im sure i can probobly find a reason to this either its because:

1) my cell phone disrupts my computer sometime (screen & speakers but i dont know about the DSL connection)

2) I was on the phone at the time and i heard noises (but my DSL filter was on and it still d/c'd my internet when i wasnt on the phone)

Same with me. I'll be idle.. and like I go to double click on RC icon down in bottom right.. And if it's been more then 45 mins to an hour it says "You have been disconnected"

Also, I banned myself for fun.. And then I was like **** I cant log on RC haha..so then I got on Admin and un-banned, and then an hour later I go to get on my normal account after it was idle.. It says You have been banned for yady yad yad..it said that everytime I got disconnected for being idle, untill I re-started RC

Sometimes that happens to me. When it doesn't happen, there seems to be a small pause time for the minimized RC to catch up with RC chat and PMs.

If you leave RC2 minimized to the system tray while going through the filebrowser, or working with NC then there are good chances of you getting disconnected (or I am told).

Personally, the only thing that happens to me is that the filebrowser will lag up until I un-minimize RC.

You can also get disconnected from RC2 if you leave it minimized to the tray for too long.

Can you see if Graal4 works when RC2 is not running? If I have RC2 in the system tray for a while my whole network will stop working like yours, but we need to know if it is actually Graal4 in this case and not just the RC.

Maybe the server is resetting attributes? It might not be every single server.

If you were being reset, you would just see "You have been disconnected from the game server", it would not destroy your network connection.

Hmm, now everything is working fine (with RC2 or without RC2), but yesterday I was on RC2 and it disconnected me. So I'm not sure

Hmmm when do you actually get disconnected, once you click on the 'Start' button, or when you connect to a server on the serverlist ?

It takes less then 10 minutes for me to be disconnected from remotecontrol, I belive because while RC2 is minimized it doesn't update. :whatever:

It happens when its minimized to the system tray. I'm not sure if its a security precaution because people were leaving their RC's idle while they were sleeping or at work, and other people used the computer and maybe messed things up, or if its just a scripting error, but if you leave RC open while you are using it, you shouldn't have any problems.

Well that doesn't answer the question, the login server is also a server. So do you get the problem when connecting to the login server (Start button) or when connecting to a regular game server like Graal Kingdoms?

Have you tried to delete the cache (weblevels folder) ?

I have noticed that while Graal4 and RC2 are minimized, they are no longer recieving packets from the server (probably the cause for the disconnection) Try this: Open the playerlist window with Graal4 being in fullscreen, hit the windows key and the playerlist will still be open. Have someone send you a PM, you will not recieve the PM until you reactivate the Graal4 window. This is quite annoying in places where people are throwing projectiles (ie: Bomboria Trade, the pots) because when you reopen graal, you get like a million projectiles flying around on your screen :P

I know I may be way off topic, but could you just be losing internet connection in general? Can you still serf the web? Cause I doubt GRAAL is causing you to lose your internet connection. I lose my connection ALL THE TIME cause my ISP is a bi**h, but I can tell you graal wouldnt make you lose your internet connection in whole. Also, I would reccomend giving more of a definitive question, rather than some ghetto hood answer with a whopping 1 sentence.

Someone using dial up with an unstable connection could be disconnected on older versions of Graal. If they didn't disable mics or UDP they could be disconnected within a matter of a few seconds. :frown:
