Mediawiki on Vip Hosting
 

I want to build up a mediawiki on vip hosting, so that any member of g2k Forest can post their charstorys and stuff like that.

Now i heard the mysql is limited.

Can anyone tell me if its enough for a mediawiki and not breaking down if like 5 or more people read articles at one time?

I couldnt it running,
iam givving it up, ill search for a lighter cms.

I tried to install something more light now,
but i need to manual load up a .sql file and the phpmyadmin seems to be outdated or just not to work x-x.

Rick has setup a Wiki on era.graal.net, may be you could contact him (or he could post how he has done it here) ?

I have talked to several people about this and they all are talking about an error with the phpMyAdmin that I do not get. I don't know why they get it as I cannot reproduce the error myself.

The inability to chmod the mediawiki config/ direction, which is required to setup the wiki, was what made me run The Wiki on my own hosting :(
I do not even remember how I got the tarball extracted.

IIRC, all your scripts have rw access to everything under your directories already.

I was able to chmod it with ftp client, but it couldnt install it then, i think its too massive for the limited mysql x-x i dont know, its just wierd.
