This quest is hard!

Spending the last over 7 hours and I'm just now to the part where you need an evil deviels hand thanks to being betrayed by 3 teams in a row. All I wanna know is when this event ends? Because if I've done spent my new years just so I could do some crappy event and didn't even get anything for it I'm kissing this piece of crap goodbye and waiting for Graal2001.

StrykerTFFD 01-01-2006 03:19 PM

I share your hate for this event, however I doubt the word choice is needed. ;)

The event nets you a choice of 3 items, all of which are..really not worth the effort. I, like many others, have decided to not do the event. :)

Prizes are:

Skull Helmet (Str+1)(ac+2)(resist death+15)
Cowboy Hat (speed+2)(ac+1) (I'm going to want my Gold Shovel back)
Skull of the Devil (Str+1)(ac+2)(resist death+15)
Golden Wizard Hat (ac+1)(magic+1)
Dagger of Fortune (Cha+4)(dam+4)(luck+3)(Attacks: Physical)

Helmets are poor looking, Golden Wizard Hat..is another hat, Dagger of Fortune does what? You can already get max Charm easily, luck+3 is pretty worthless as Luck is more used for blessing OTHER weapons, where's the logic?

Cowboy hat is the only thing worth wild, yet it doesn't make me want to do all that work.

The problem you're facing is another thing that turned me away from this event. There are very, very few people, compared to the opposite, who are willing to work with others on Graal. People are out for themselves, and you being screwed by 3 teams already makes me sad for Graal's population.

xAndrewx 01-01-2006 03:29 PM

I don't mind the event. I can understand that you're mad for not receiving the evil deviels hand and being betrayed 3 times, but is that really enough for you to quit the server?

That dagger is pretty neat.

Dagger of Fortune gives you a higher weaponspeed than ID/FID.

Craigus 01-01-2006 07:55 PM

I at first hated this quest i failed the alchemy 3 times (which was hella expensive) after suceeding the fouth time it got better. Set a team up with 2 nubs and we completed in a couple of hours with just a few minor problems. I really enjoyed it, cept for the recipe part i think it should of been made so you cant fail it.

Weapon speed hasn't been implimented into the game yet. Different weapons of the same type all attack at the same speed.

OasaTor_PK 01-01-2006 09:05 PM

all I can say is "LAWL NUBE"
Its a lot of fun "ONCE" your past the stuffcollection, putting a pumpkin on the table for a wand, how much better does it get?

Yea, same gani for all daggers

Craigus 01-01-2006 09:12 PM

I think you guys will find that faster weapons dont visually slash faster but you get more hits in per slash.

Yea, I'm pretty sure that's true - I believe the "weapon speed" just represents the ammount of time the player is frozen between slashes.

CidNight1142 01-02-2006 01:17 AM

I would have a tough time deciding between the dagger and the cowboy hat. Sadly I'll never get to make that decision. What would you guys go with?

Draenin 01-02-2006 04:29 AM

I went with Fortune Dagger / Cowboy Hat.

Butz 01-02-2006 04:31 AM

Yeah, it's really the item collection part at the beginning that's the bad part of the quest.
If it was simply a quest made of everything from ringing the bells onward, or if the items to be collected weren't so expensive or hard to find, the quest would be great.

Damix2 01-02-2006 05:31 AM

I thought it was pretty fun

Chris 01-02-2006 05:48 AM

It was a good event. Once you got past collecting the needed materials it was easy.

The only bad part is that at certain areas where all three members of the team are needed, another group of people could come in and totally screw up everything. Damix, Kyden, and I got stuck at one point because another team screwed us over. We finally got going again and it was fun.

I picked the dagger and devil helmet. I look hawt

Sam 01-02-2006 12:21 PM

As Stefan said before, it's not perfect, but we can learn from that and improve things if we do such a quest again.
Years ago I played on Classic, and it was very hard to do some of the quests. On some of them I failed 20, 30 times a row, but I asked for help an I've learned to be calm and patient. And I finished all quests at last with the help of my guild members ArchAngels and with NaNouk the FAQ Chief who sadly died.
I wish you would rethink and play more in a team, that would help your team to use your specific skills IC and IRL.
And I promise the next recipe uses: 5 dias of great value, 10 fingers from me and 2 ice bracers! ;)

Myukoi 01-02-2006 02:26 PM

I totally take back everything I said before. I just finished it and as soon as you get the yellow stone it's so much fun! Traveling to all these different places, mazes, friends with you. It's so awesome! I really hope more things like this will come out. I love quests and events.

BLOODY-SWORD 01-02-2006 02:27 PM

quests on Classic were fun even if sometimes extremely hard, this quest is good, but not thought out as much as it could have been (for exaple the rat tails, we need a staff member to summon rats, but they arnt always on)

Summon rats? Uhh they are in the cargo hold of ships.

Zxion 01-02-2006 07:26 PM

Yes, I totally agree that this quest was awesome. The hardest part was getting the evil dievil's hand/alchemy ingredients, but it was really fun after that part! Good job everyone who was involved in making this! I hope that we get to see more stuff like this really soon! This is what Graal needs!

ninja edit: Yesterday I saw over 100 people on Kingdoms....when was the last time I saw that many people playing Kingdoms? I'd have to say...probably back in 2003 or so...

StrykerTFFD 01-03-2006 11:33 AM

Glad you guys are having fun, I'm still failing the recipe. :whatever:

You're more than likely doing something wrong. Try putting the ingredients in the cauldron in the correct order (I'm not sure if that makes a difference, but you never know.)

Not anymore. ;]

CidNight1142 01-03-2006 11:23 PM

No one would have complained about the quest at all if one thing changed. Instead of the evil dievil hand, have another body part from a new monster, and the entire quest would have been a huge success. The difficulty of finding that one item is what made any problems at all.

Craigus 01-04-2006 12:00 AM

Evildievil hand is easy to obtain, failing the alchemy was a much bigger problem.

SayianOozaru 01-04-2006 12:38 AM

someone failed the alch part like 3 times in a row x.x i'd of hated that -_-

CidNight1142 01-04-2006 12:52 AM

The evil dievel hand was easy to obtain IF you weren't new to the game. That item alone was pretty much impossible to get if you had under say...200 hours of play. The 30 dias they were selling for is a ridiculous sum for nubs, and you cant do an immense under level 20 or so. I have trouble with them at level 30ish because I don't have very good magic resistance, and I know most people at level 20 or below probably have none or less then none.

Yep, but the servers crashed right before we could continue on with the quest. I think I'm destined to not have any Christmas items :frown:

3 times is nothing. I did it 5 times. Someone else did it like, 8 times. It's crazy!

I never failed it. I did it 2 times and both times it worked.

Googi 01-04-2006 05:44 PM

Listen, if you fail the recipe 8 times then it's obvious you're doing something wrong.

Yes.

Or someone else told you the recipe but don't have it in your characters knowlegend ;)

Craigus 01-04-2006 06:12 PM

I failed it 3 times and i am sure i made no mistakes with it, though i have a low mental of just level 10.

Draenin 01-04-2006 10:43 PM

I did it at level 8 with 20 int. It's not that hard.
