Tips and hints to up your zone ownage ante
 

Here are some tricks to help some of those new people out, or if you find that you excessivly die these will help.
Firstly, before you ever get on a hoverbike (unless its begining of a game,) I highly suggest that you throw a barrel on it (If the barrel only gives a green goo effect after you throw it, keep throwing barrels untill they explode on the bike.) This will eliminate any proximity mines that have been cleverly placed under the bike to kill you/destroy your bike.
Next, if someone grabs b1 during the middle of a raging war there I suggest you do not warp there, chances are there are 6-12 people waiting on the other side for people who do teleport to lame them to death.
Also, if you try to acquire b1 during a massive war, and you've just killed everybody, chances are the top of the base is mined or the ladders are, so get your trusty buddy the barrel and throw him till it exlpodes on top of the base, thusly eliminating any proximity mines placed there.
Buying a jetpack will come in handy also, for those 15 seconds that you have to acquire a base before your team loses, or if your being spawn lamed just jetpack your way into the game teleporter and fly away from your home base.

These are all the hints i can think of for now, if I get anymore I will edit this, or if you have any ideas of your own please submit them here.

and what ever you do dont not strafe unless you are using a rifle for example:Blue Rifle.... Nor do not use apps and strafe with them...
Edit: and to save money and your poisoned or low hp go to Dropship and select the medic class and heal....

Strafing is for newbs. Dont strafe at all.

i hope this helped some people. strafing should be REMOVED from the game, or put on a strafing meter, or take energy, or something.

strafing removed is the most pathetic think i ever heard, but strafing with pistols removed is a diferent story.

Why would you admit to using a handgun? If it's a handgun why is it under rifles?

Why wouldn't I? I'm good with it.
Because even though it's just one gun, it takes up both hand spaces, unlike if you use only one APP I imagine.

Anyone who uses a handgun can be good because it's so lame.. :\

I like strafe. I like strafing in most games which make use of fast-launching/moving projectiles.

And how did this become a strafing thread, its meant to help noobs not to argue about strafing, I am sick of people making my threads into arguements, take it to graal or pms if you want to argue about strafing is lame or not.

1. Strafe only with rifles or people will waste time arguing on how "lame" you are.
2. Do not lame because you will gain a bad reputation and be hunted by most of the good players relentlessly.
3. Gain friendships with the stronger players so they will not kill you without warning.

HERE ARE THE TIPS TO NOT BE CALLED A 'newb/noob/nub'

1) When you fight, move around
2) after you've killed your opponent press a, then take your weapons out again (so no reload in next battle)
3) don't strafe unless ur using a riffle
4) don't use proxi's
5) don't use anyother grenade
6) when you come to mines (from bikes) throw a grenade, just to be sure it's not your opponents
7) learn to move around and still have a pretty good aim
8) get some skill nooblets :D

i agree and if you wanna get better go to iricia and kill more noobs or base lame but not really base lame like using a gun.... then once your at Deathmatch (DM) spar ppls

Also dont think about aiming at your target just think about dodgeing and shooting where you think they will go (FireBoX gave me this tip)

What I like to do wile sparing is use G18... :) Make sure you don't hold the shoot key wile sparing. Its like Uzi's on Era. If you lay down on the trigger someone will move around the streight line of fire. Only if you get really close and your on an angle to them (top left/right, bottom left/right) use rapid fire.

G18 is good but its hard to spar with. When I use them my record is like 5-6. Good tip though.

Very true. But keep in mind that like appirces, you need to keep at it for a wile. I've been practicing with G18 for quite some time... (look at score board for info...). Plus before I was a member I had a good 2000 kills with them...

Ya but appirces are the weapon of choice for sparring.

yeah, its true, although with the way a lot of people spar, sometimes you dont need to move, and you can win (ive done this before against a nameless opponent, because if I said his name he'd deny it and hunt me down irl)

Proxi's aren't lame unless put on a respawn or enteryway.
Grenades aren't cheap unless they're used to keep the opponent from moving, such as pipebombs.
Waste of grenades, just wait for someone else to check the bike. XD

Grenades are cheap. Yes, there easy to beat (unless it's a pipe noob and a red rifle noob teaming you...then there COULD be problems..) but how would a pipe bomb keep you from moving?O_o


No, it's not a waste. Would you rather take a chance at dying, or waste somthing that costs like $3? -_- Grenades are easy to stack up on x.x

Pfff. Old thread. But seeing as I shouldn't create a new one when there's this old thing lying around, here:
-When using a grenade, there's a "glitch" that will freeze your opponent if he/she is on a ladder near the explosion. Same with mortar.
-You can use the crawl technique to sneak up on Base 1 and deliver a showerof mortars to the people who go AFK there because there's "protection in numbers".
-If you want to be the lamest person on the server, pick the Marine class, stock up on Pipebombs, equip them, and equip the Icecannon at the same time.
-While the crossbow may seem like a crappy weapon, it is actually very useful, especially with the sapper class (Hint: Sappers have a plasma Saber). You can use it in combination with either combat knives or a Gravitron, depending on the planet you play on. If you use the Gravitron, just "Range" your opponent after they are poisoned.
-While Gas Grenades may seem like crap, it's because they are crap. Waste of money.
-Also, When using any weapon like the kr90 or the Storm Rifle, again, just Range your opponent. Note: "Ranging" is not to be confused with "Running" or "Hiding".
-Speaking of hiding, if you have a jetpack, check this out: Fly on top of a barrel (The blue ones. Not the explosive ones, you idiot). Try to position yourself so that you are facing upward, all of your team symbol is hidden by the barrel, and most of your head/hair is hidden by the barrel. Once positioned, Crawl, and if you have done it correctly, you will be invisible to both radar and sight (Unless a person is holding down the "n" key. I'll discuss that in a minute), allowing you to ambush an opponent standing right next to you.
-Holding down the "N" key will display nicknames for a player, regardless of crawling or not. You can use this to spot people hiding behind barrels or behind trees (deathmatch).
-Like Sayian said, get some skill.

They also work well when bounty hunting (When being teamed throw rnadomly and run, when boutny hunting hit em with Gas grenade then pipe 'emWorks well with g18's or weapons that lame very well...I use this trick alot ;)Agreed...
