I like it :) Pretty cool :D

The perspective of the shield when comparing up/down to left/right is skewed... Also the shield looks smaller in the left/right sprites.

.All the sprites cept the shield behind one need to have improved shading (brighter as it goes down.) It looks like the lighting isn't proportionate with the rest of the sprites.

.Try taking out the black outline to make it look sharper.

.Possibly add some colors? I think it might look cool if the monster head was red and maybe throw some black on there some how?

hm...sharper...i would make the outlines darker for that effect...

Not technically, you can get the same effect by using a similar shade either lighter but usually darker color but not black. Black outlines USUALLY tend to be ugly and stick out like a sore thumb. Try to stray away from using them.
