Well how does it look? |
The idea behind it isn't all that bad (it looks like you tried to have some kind of river).
Other than that, it's horrible. |

This stuff isnt suppose to be simple bud, learn to basics of what your doing before you try stuff. |

Seriously, they're right - it may be simple to do, but so is driving a car. Put your foot down and go... right until you crash into a wall. Same with Graal - you can make levels that look horrible and its easy, but to make proper levels its a whole lot harder. |

Leveling to make levels like what is on Graal today is much harder than you think, but all it takes is alot of practice, and you can become really good. Experiment with different tiles together, look at tutorials, practice alot, and you will be fine :) |
Start smaller... Try working one level at a time.
|
No Moonie, I knew that I sucked but I knew enough to get better by not making a map =/ and where I should start. For example babies crawl before they walk yet this guy is trying to go straight into a full sprint.
I think he has done stuff like this in other sections of the fourm. |
I've worked with an offline game editor(RpgToolkit) for like 2 years now and almost mastered it and also got sick of it. So i kinda know what i'm doing. I know the varible stuff and that...
I'd say toolkit is way harder than the graal editor too use.. Edit: yay the mountains! |

I agree with haunter, take it one level at a time |
I first started making levels on a map, I started it off blank with my brother. This was our finished result:
http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...chmentid=20838 I found it easier to work with a map than actually doing an individual level. Goodluck, I like your map designs :) |
Well, I would say it'd be better to start off with a big scale map. It's experiencing him in Map Work and Level Work.
Have a look at other people's styles, which are accepted, and then see WHY they are accepted and you're are not. |

Anyway, could use quite a bit of work, but keep trying :) |

Or he can look back on the them, and say "Screw that".
Only kidding. I agree, refurbishing old projects, with new skill is always a good thing. If you can take something from an E grade to a B grade, then that'd be awesome. |
Editing levels and making them look good is hard FYI. Usually better to just remake the entire thing instead of editing.
|
Everyone is different, above Inferno says he prefers to make new levels than editing old ones. I prefer to edit older levels that make new ones.
|
I'm not much of a levels person, but..
Wow. Just wow. I can understand making kinda-crappy levels when you first start out, but these levels are just appauling. You can log on any one of the classic servers, walk around for a while, and get an idea of what a good level looks like. You can then try to imitate what you see. In the end, you'll atleast have a semi-good level. But these levels.. Just wow. Anyone making levels should have seen enough to know better. Constructive criticism: Don't use the spray tool in the image you're generating into a map. It makes your levels ugly(er). |
