Blessing auras
 

Just a thought...

Since particle effects are now being used and appear to be pretty darn stable, I was thinking it might be cool for a weapon to have something happen to it once it's been blessed. For example, weapons blessed with ogma could have little poison bubbles orbiting around it, while one with Govannon could have an aura of smoke that trails behind the person as he/she walks. (Since Govannon was a god of blacksmithing.) Brigid users could possibly leave behind flowers instead of footsteps, and Diancecht users could have wisps of holy spirits floating around their weapons. Bile users could have little swarms of flies around their weapons, while Balor users would have little pulsing red flames that slowly rotate around part of the blade. These are just suggestions, but it'd be a really neat application of the particle stuffs if used.

Aw. Really? I thought it'd be neat to actually be able to tell if a weapon is enchanted or not while the person is wielding it.

That's just getting overly flashy. Reminds me of WoW ;[

Still... Sparklies = Awesome.

Yeah, it would look pretty cool to add an effect to every weapon based on the blessing on it.. but that would probably clash with some of the previous effects on weapons.

Then again, show us an example of what you mean and it would probably be easier to pick apart. :]

I dunno, I think it'd be cool to have say, a Flame Ice Dagger dropping snowflakes, or a Lightning Sword that looked like it actually had lightning around the blade, and not just a two-frame blink on and off animation.

I kinda' like the idea, but as a V2 user It wouldn't matter to me. :)

Not bad if it doesn't cause lag.

On Maloria players can have smokey particle auras around them, and it doesn't really lag you much.

Personally i think it would be great. It would also tell you why your enemys fire blade was much better than yours, instead of you wondering if he was a hacker.
