GraalShop Improvements

I think you guys should update the graalshop, add..

).Be able to turn the sprites into a 360degree angle.
).Add frame "undo's", right now undos are only for the sprites.

Those are my idea, post more.

Benm00t 10-11-2005 10:43 PM

Make something that'll turn the ganis into nice little gif files for easy showing on the forums!

napo_p2p 10-12-2005 02:23 AM

Maybe some kind of script editor.

Lance 10-12-2005 02:25 AM

I'd settle for having it use the filenamecache.

excaliber7388 10-12-2005 02:51 AM

More ease of use XD Seriously though, It is a bit confusing :\

Sulukra 10-12-2005 03:51 AM

If it wasn't confusing, it'd be too easy. Its fine the way it is, but the thing that gets me is that you have to go into the text version to get the sound name. Just have it be a little icon on the screen, thats what I suggest.

But you agree it's confusing ^^ if it was easier, people could make even better ganis.

Fogles 10-12-2005 01:51 PM

It's easy if you know what your doing, you must know frame work, how to get the image sizes, and x,y's.

It's quite easy.

Fogles 10-12-2005 01:52 PM

Maybe they should add a "realtime tutorial".

I'd like something to make it easier to add new sprites. As shown in my "screenshot," you click a button to select the area of an image you want to add as a sprite. If you don't select perfectly you could change the numbers on the bottom to update the selection rectangle.

Who said it's bad for it to be "way too easy"? The Graal Level editor is as easy as hell, why shouldn't GraalShop be the same way?

Exactly :D

Cool, so all you would have to do it just fix the width, and height.

Sulukra 10-12-2005 10:41 PM

I would say that since the editor is too easy, that'd be the reason that 100000 people can LAT and like, 100 can gani, in an inaccurate summary basically. If its too easy, then they're'll be too many ganiiers out there. Its arguable on both sides, I'd say. But the thing with the image is also good. But yeah, if you understand Graalshop, it IS easy to use.

Edit for Damix due to throttle:
No, I don't want less developers. I'm pointing out a fact. 3/4 of the people that visit Myrrodin asking for jobs can LAT, and the other few can often script, but not GFX or gani. There aren't that many ganiiers out there already, which I appreciate because it often leads to ganiiers practicing their craft alot because they're rare out there. Again, arguable from both sides.

 You click and drag the part of the image you want, then change the numbers on the bottom if you want it perfect.

So....you want less developers? Thats retarded logic.

Or maybe also a dyamic coordinate label in the corner. Something that shows the x and y of the mouse on the sprite sheet, then when you are selecting, an additional something that shows the height and width of your selection.

Yeah, GS is a very easy form of scripting, but GS2 is easier, and has more functions, shouldn't graalshop get an upgrade too? More ease of use=more gani makers=better ganis. common sense

jake13jake 10-23-2005 10:07 AM

It's not that it's hard to make a gani, it's just that the ease of use of graal shop is nonexistent. The only thing that makes it bearable is copy and paste.

excaliber7388 10-23-2005 06:36 PM

It would be nice if we could use a dragto select thing for sprites, that would make it take a lot less time to make a gani

jake13jake 10-23-2005 09:31 PM

How about this.
1. Center Sprite

2. Work Board (doesn't affect the gani parts)

3. Functions from work board:
-Import ganipart
-(Add/Replace) to ganiparts
(ganipart), (initpart,endpart),({array})
relative to (another sprite / location on work board)
layered (above/below)

-Then all those other ones that exist in the side box already.

4. That sprite selection idea that that other person came up with an image for would be really good as well.

I wish stefan would look at this thread.

You can't hold it against him too much, he's actually doing something -- Debugging v4.

Sulukra 10-26-2005 03:51 AM

Also, copy direction frame; and make it possible for some directions to be longer then others, and make copy frame also changeable by direction.

Don't make strict commands! Nobody likes listening to orders!
