A bit of lag problems

Would it be possible to have 3D light's and the particle engine optional for V4. Because I admit my computer's probably one of the worse on Graal Online. ( 300MHz Pentium 2, 192 SD-RAM, Overclock'd ATi 3D Rage Pro :\ ) I'm pretty sure that's causing my low fram rates. I was really looking forward to a much happier Graal life when I heard about V4 but was sadly disapointed when I tried it out today. I find V2 with no nick's and 3D light's is mcuh faster then V4 for me...

Maybe you can sell your computer to an antique shop, then have enough money to buy a new one...

Just kidding, but it would probably be the best thing to see if you can get a new computer. Even the cheapest ones on the market are better than that.

And a new computer not just to play Graal (would be a poor reason to get one). But (hopefully) you use your computer for other things. I can't imagine doing much on that computer other than playing minesweeper and cheesy DOS games.

It's a problem of your drivers. Make sure to get the last driver for your graficcard and load also the newest DirectX version down. That should solve your lag problem.

Yes CPU speed should be ok, for graphics card get the latest drivers if possible, eventually turn off bitmap fonts.

Well I run my computer as fast as possible. I only run Graal,Explorer and Enternet. I'm only using about 1.6 GB's of my Hard drive. I have DirectX 9 and I have the newsest driver for my Graphic Card. I even have it overclock'd with my driver. I'm sure it's not my internet. It's a basic DSL modem with a 288KBs/sec upload and download speed and run's Halo 2 on my Xbox online very well.

Yeah, I turn'd off Bitmap fonts but that only fix'd the fonts. ( Unless I was in high Resolution it was garble'd and difficult to read ) Would it be possible in the future to have V4 to have 3D lights and particle's optional like in V2?

Hmm. My computers video card is an Intel GFX Controller. They arent made anymore. So your card isnt as bad as mine. I cant read fonts when i turn on bitmap fonts, I dont like the bitmap fonts thing because i cant read a thing :( And I also think that the light effects should be optional, cuz I hate them.

It seems that the majority of the problems with the Graal 4 client concering fonts and lights are coming from the Intel gfx controllers. However, once I had the people who come to me with this problem upgrade their drivers, they were fixed.

Is there some way for Graal to detect card drivers and recommend upgrade?

My video card was made in 1997-1998. It lag's in Doom 2 when I put the resolution to 1200x1000. Trust me mines bad!

but on a serious note, I'm sorry. It's time to get with the times. Anything under 512mb RAM and about 2ghz processing speed is becoming obsolete. Even my grandfather is running 1gb on his laptops and pcs.

Jaquet 10-03-2005 01:18 PM

I have 512 ram, but 850 mhz :(
