New Updates

A few days ago Graal Kingdoms has been switched to new scripting engine and new mudlib. There were some bugs but most of them have been fixed. Report them in the Bugs forum please if you find more.
With the new updates we will be able to add a lot of interesting things and also fix some problems:
- the item disappearing bug should be fixed
- when you logout while doing trades then the items will automatically be picked up so that you don't lose them
- you cannot hurt other people inside trade rooms, even with spells or diseases
- the commands /drop and /dropall have been readded
- the EMs will get new event tools (Graal v4 required)
- reduced the responce time when clicking on items

With the new mudlib and scripting engine we will also be able to find things easier that are lagging the game. There will also be more updates once Graalv4 has been released, which we plan to do quite soon.

Awesome ;D.
Could you add a limit to the '/listen' commands?
Like, '/listenlimit 3' would only show 3 of the messages in the lower right hand corner?

Before you do anything else, add a k-mode again in which everyone has equal stats (equal everything: attack, defense, hp, etc) so there can be wars?

I like that idea :)

Please please please, for the love of all that is holy, (magic) add the option to limit text. It is very aggrivating to be in the middle of a huge tournament and having tremendous lag because you have to be reminded 10,000 times that you are not to hit players outside the arena.

And will lights ever not slow things down to a crawl? I was expecting less resources to be used on simple lighting. I can run the game Quake III at 400 frames per second average when it has dynamic lighting and shading, and yet I can't run Graal with lights that stay stationary most of the time and that don't even cause things like reflections to occur.

Have you tried Graal 3? [If yes, is it any better?]

Graal 3 is mch better with spells, but there are other things about it that need fixing/adding. Hopefully these things will come with v4

-Color coded bubbles in playerlist for PMs, masses, toguilds, etc
-Guild section on playerlist
-Names on playerlist cannot be placed in alphabetical order.
-Cannot copy/paste from RPG message window (F2)
-Others I can't remember
-Also, that sound it makes every time you get a PM/mass/toguild xD...It gets irritating, har har. There should be a way to turn it off.

Yeah. Graal 3 does some cool stuff. For example, it lets you get through walls by reconnecting, and it also makes you run around, looking to those on v4 as if you are lagging every step of the way. If you have lighting enabled, it's even cooler because natural graal colors only who up during when you're under a light. Everything else gets its gamma messed with. Even your desktop! (I can take a screen of it happening.) The scariest thing is, when I restarted my comp to get rid of the gamma mess-up, there was even a big pink block on my windows logout screen which is usually blue. Anyone playing Graal 3 has to be taking a lot of drugs to enjoy it.

You undid the pot/shield strafe glitch that Lance fixed a long time ago. While you're at it, you could fix shield strafing and swimming...

I can add something to not display the no-hit messages too often.
About Quake3: You might think Graal is just a simple 2D game, but it is using more resources because of the player custumization (different heads etc.), also drawing much more text which is one of the biggest slowdowns, and everything is controlled by scripts. Older 3D games are usually faster than current 2D games. Graal v4 should be much faster, will need to think about ways to speedup the text drawing though.

Sounds like a bit of an exaggeration to me.

Hehehe... I got Stefan to talk about Quake. =]

May God have mercy on your soul...

Dunno, sounded like a right thing to say.

Anyhoo, I've had a similar experience with the same game(s). Quake III ran smoothly on my computer looking great, but I think Half-Life was lagging at unplayable speeds even at ugly graphic settings. I think Graal was lagging too.

Anyhoo, that's in my past, everything works fine for me now. (Several computer changes)
