Commonly used tiles to download

Does anyone have any downloadable levels with commonly used tiles already assembled? Such as a group of gold trees, red trees and green trees? This would be very helpful as I do not feel like searching through the tileset. Thank you. :)

Crono 07-07-2005 02:45 AM

Is it really that hard...?

If you need anything else, ask and I'll add it to the level.

Note- Why the **** are .nw's invalid? And why the **** are .rar's invalid as well? Jesus christ -_-...

Rick 07-07-2005 02:10 PM

Uh, what's wrong with prefab objects?

You'll never be a good LAT if you don't explore the tileset yourself. You'll just be using what everyone else has already done and you wont come up with any originality.

Torankusu 07-08-2005 02:51 AM

I used to, but that was like 2 years ago.

Kuza 07-08-2005 06:42 AM

Wow, gee, thanks. I thought Shadowless closed this thread. I think my laziness has disgusted a few people. It's not that I can't create the objects on my own... I was just wondering if anyone already had pre-made jules, mountains, linked trees, etc. I don't know what I was thinking, really. I didn't think so many people would take it so offensively.

Thank you, Crono. I am going to check out your level right now. <3

He did, then I opened it as there was no real reason to close it.

Threads in the scripting section get closed when people ask for scripts/parts of scripts... So I closed this. It's not going to hurt Kuza to find these tiles himself... In fact it will help him familiarize himself with the tileset.

I had my reasons and I PMed them to the Thread Creator, so slack off a bit.

Crono 07-08-2005 02:55 PM

If you need more just ask, I could probably make more levels with things assembled and make a seperate thread with it all zipped. :o

Is it really that hard to make em like a graal file? Just do "open as" and take graal. It worked for me.

Yeah, I thought that would be the reason which is fair enough.
But then in my opinion level makers are generally, well, there are more of them and it's quicker to do and they are more willing to help out, so someone is likely to get a response to a request for a level.

The forums wouldn't let me upload.

I would say the same thing for a scripter. If you're looking for a quality LAT, that is just as hard to find as a good scripter.

I wasn't questioning quality, I'm saying more people are likely to help out. And you don't need that much quality as most requests even for scripts aren't that complex, it's just the fact that there would be loads of requests - and with level making people can do it straight away as it's easier to start with.

I mean a person who has done neither can probably more so start level making without having to ask too many questions, for most people.

A person can just open an npc and type random stuff. Same thing :(!

The question will always be quality, you make it sound like a person could open up the editor and make great levels without having any previous expierence, which is totally false.

Shaun 07-10-2005 04:51 PM

What about .zelda levels??

I know I am late, but thanks Spark. Crono, do you have AIM? I'd like to show you something.

I'll take the Wan attitude and help people out when they need it I guess.

They will, in most cases again, become a quality level maker before a quality coder still. Quicker, and with less questions asked.

Torankusu 07-14-2005 10:15 AM

to be honest with you, I try to use as little predefined objects as i can. If i have to use one, I take it apart tile by tile and make it how i want it.

WanDaMan 07-14-2005 08:48 PM

It's easier to use 'Select Tile' and 'Select Predefined Objects' with a mix from both teams.

For example whilst doing cliffs you can get a layout from the 'Select Predefined Objects' window (A mix between the normal cliffing and the water cliffs) but you'd then use 'Select Tile' to get rid of the errors :)

Ugh, it's easier done than being said.

no, i understand what you're saying. That's what i do whenever I do my cliffs. Some of the pieces don't usually look right, so i mix/match them so they do look right and flow together.

I'll post my first level in a while up soon. ;x
