Tournament Rules

The days are winding down and I have not gotten in contact with Stefan, so I'll make the rules, and if he approves, then they will be the official rules.

NOTE: THESE ARE NOT OFFICIAL YET. IF STEFAN APPROVES, THEN THEY WILL BE (OR UNIXMAD).

Tournament Sign-Ups:

http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...ad.php?t=59526

How this will work:

It will be a series of the best 2 out of 3 per map. In order for this to work, all non participants would have to be in a waiting room where they can view the tournament until it's over (up to Stefan).

Basically, a team does not get a point on a map, until they have won in a best 2 out of 3 times. This will go on per map, and when each map is complete, the team with the highest amount of points wins (so far it's 4 points total since there is only 4 maps).

Prize(s):

The prize(s) is up to Stefan. Whatever he wants to give out as a prize will be given out.

Any questions/comments?

4. Account: Nick
5. Account: Nick

Idea1:
I think it would be better for everyone who wants to play to post in a thread, and then names are randomly drawn (simply have a generating number script and if the number 6 pops up then the 6th person to reply gets to play). Of course, pick so many including back-ups.

Idea2:
Same as above, with different teams (like 3/4) so that after 1 map another team goes and plays, then another on the next map.

Idea3:
(Would need coding) so that players wait in a lobby and if someone dies then someone else gets put into the map, for respawn maps, so that the maximum amount of players available can play.

I'll play, even though I suck, if I get back in time as I'm down south that day. I also thing the G3D staff may play too (not fully sure).

I suppose this could work also.

We wouldnt have enough players for idea 2. I mean, many would sign up, but if they don't all show, then we wouldn't be able to do much about it.

Good idea if everyone that signs up shows.

Guilds have nothing to do with this tournament.

More should turn up, there are Zone players on all the other servers, but if they know they can play they'll go on Zone for a few hours instead of the other servers I'd imagine.

What if the person doesn't have gold/vip and can't post on the forums but wants to join?

Gambet 06-19-2005 08:01 PM

They could have someone else sign up for them. I don't see a problem with that. Just list there account name/nick.

I wouldn't do that. Could get confusing and turn into a "he said she said" or "john doe was supposed to sign me up!"

Everyone has a post per 8 hours, they'll manage.

How will you choose the player team?

Matt 06-24-2005 01:23 AM

They are chosen at random.

maximus_asinus 06-24-2005 01:24 AM

It'd be cool to see the person(s) with the top stats per weapon face off against the staff.

Matt 06-24-2005 01:38 AM

I thought staff were also randomly chosen for their teams also. Don't think they have their own.

Staff already have players chosen...I would know >_>

Blackdragon 06-24-2005 08:22 AM

I second that, but if the teams were chosen on skill instead of luck, then it would cause other to complain about it being unfair -.-
