Sand Tiles or Not Sand Tiles?
 

Ok people I have a question. Thrash our Dev on Bab wants to change our ahh beaches with different tiles. Im not sure I realy like the shade or the detail of the ahh new "sand" But I want to know what the players think because I realy dont care what I think.

So What should we stick with? The dirt tiles or the new sand tiles?

On player they look wierd, they're too bright for the dark tileset.

Exactly what I was saying, the transition isn't pleasing.

Yea I tried to tell him that....Its way to bright so the color is totally off and it seems like he just made the tiles w/o thinking of what was going to be around it.

Instead of using the transition tiles that you are using for it, I suggest making new tiles that will make the transition to the beach. On most beaches, the grass just slowly fades to all sand. I think you should make the transition tiles like the dirt/water ones all the way to the right of the tileset, on the bottom.

I think the shade is fine, maybe a bit darker, but if it is too dark, it won't look like sand. I do agree that new tiles should be put into place because, heh, you don't sit on dirt at a beach.

the sand tiles are good,but u should make different color seashells
also it'd be cool to see water flow up and down on the beach that'd be super imo cool

I don't know how they look stolen, I took out my mom's sea shell collection and looked at them while I did the outlines.

I prefer the sand ones in the picture although I do think it would look a little better if the sand was a little darker but not as dark as the dirt tiles.
Mayber about as dark as the dark bits of it now except all over.

Yeah the new sand is better... but that may be because im totaly sick of the classic tiles and hate them now?

And...? Zenkou didn't come up with the idea that water should go on the beach then back, just one of the first to implement it. :o

not only that but it was on a playerworld shortly after NPC-Servers became available to playerworlds a couple of years ago.
Actually, It might've been on G2k1 also..
