Lag.. x.x

I think this is lag, but a lot of the times I get disconnected from a Graal Server. And other times I can move but I can't see NPC/other players, Which is horrible for my events job. I don't know if this is Graal related, but does anyone know how to fix/help lag?

Try using TCP instead of UDP? I had a 'similar ish' issue, which was solved this way.

Arnack 06-08-2005 03:05 AM

I am an internet noob.
More explanation?

Luciano 06-08-2005 03:17 AM

There's actually an option for it - try 'Don't use UDP for data packages' in the F1 > General Options > General tab.

Arnack 06-08-2005 03:21 AM

Ok done, I will wait and see if it helps :-)
EDIT: ARGH!
I can hear them everyone and on Gmap, but I am all alone x.x

I think you need to close Graal and reopen before the option change takes affect (not certain). ^^

Arnack 06-08-2005 03:32 AM

Nothing different has happened. If this acts up, I think I will have to quit Graal x.x

What kind of Internet connection do you have?

Matt 06-08-2005 02:54 PM

Are you using a router?

Arnack 06-09-2005 04:25 AM

My mom and my cpu is linked, and we use adelphia. (if that helps)

Basically means, is there a little box between the connection from the modem to your computer? I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you don't use a basic hub or switch.

And do you get disconnected ONLY from the Graal Servers? Or the internet as a whole (e.g: Faulty interent wire / bad wireless conectivity)?

Also consider opening some ports if you have a firewall/router with a built-in firewall. (Which you may not know how to do, but we can help with if you find out if you even have one - try asking the person with the most knowledge of your setup in your family, or look at all the things conencted - if your lucky it'll say ROUTER on it).

Anyhow:
You need to enable some TCP/IP ports so that Graal can successfully connect (only outgoing ports - so should be no problems):
SERVERLIST = port 14922
GAME SERVERS = ports 14880 - 14999

Well, as I said before, my mom and my computer are connected (mine upstairs, hers downstairs). My mom has a router, and I don't know if that affects me. Sometimes my internet gets mean and disconnects me and I just have to click on the link agian untill I get it.
Maybe just more memory?

Blitz_Hunter 06-09-2005 06:34 PM

It might be from your graphics card, etc.

Well, request your mom opens the ports listed above.
