There should be an actually useful marketplace
There should be a marketplace close to Bomboria where players can rent stands and sell items tax free. It should be possible to price the items in either plat or dias. It should, of course, be a no-PK zone.
This would be better than trade tables sometimes. |
Hmmm... Yeah. Unless it were large, though, there wouldn't be many vacancies. It needs to be rather big like the pub is now.
|
yeah, and unlike the pub you can actually buy **** from the NPC's like coal and such xP for people like me it would be save a lot of time (im lazy)
|
It would help the economy, and cut down on complaints about not being able to trade.
|
I personally think it's a superb idea. People could have a limited amount of time on the tables, so as not to clog them up, just like the normal tables, but there should be a lot of places where items can be laid out. One person should be able to claim about 1/2-1 table for their items, (4-8 item slots ont he tables) and the building should be filled to the brim with them. Successful free games like Rose Online and (used to be) Ragnarok Online gave you the options to let your trades sit overnight, and the ecnomy on there is very stable.

i agre w/ goggoi's idea

I like, nice work :D

Why not just use the same sort of market system that 2K1 used to have? Adapt it to use Googi's pricing scheme of either plat or diamonds, and it'll be fine. Heck, you could even put the thing in some of the open land that we seem to have a lot of, and make it an open air market. |

Excellent yet rather simple idea... you would think something like this would have been implemented already.
However I think, prices in both plat and diamonds is a must though. |
Absolutely. The prices should translate themselves though. For example, if you put a diamond on the table and try to sell it, the value of that diamond should be shown when you try to buy it (500p) so that you don't have people trying to charge over that. It's crazy enough that the price of them rose from 300p.

Economy shouldn't be oversee'd by Stefan/Admins, they don't play the game so they wouldn't understand the inflations, which would draw attention away from the Market - dictating the pricing on things without really knowing any better is pretty stupid.
Leave it up to the people to run the economy, if it goes over well you'll notice; if it doesn't, circulate in some new stuff (GIVE US UPDATES) and let the economy fix itself. |
Hmmm... Yeah. I see where you're going.
Also, it might be nice if a few things are done with this, should it ever fall through. For one, it might not be wise to put it in Bomb. Bomboria is already very crowded, especially with pets and whatnot. It'd be even more crowded if you had people just loitering there. My best suggestion for a location would be in those big open fields on the west side of main, that way if it's an open-air market, there'll be plenty of space to move around in. Also, could something be implemented to where horses couldn't wander around in there? It's already chaos when someone puts a few horses on the trading tables, and with a bajillion market tables, the results wouldn't be pretty. Some nifty decorations would go nice too. Maybe like a fountain or something. Getting carried away, I know. |
since everyone seems to really like this idea the next step to take is getting Stefan to do it :\ wonder if he well...
|
You would think he would, since over 200 people pay $30 USD every six months for him to do exactly that.... UPDATE
|
Forgive me if this may seem to be a heretical idea or whatnot, but I think it'd be cool if when a person bought your stuff (say, an inferno sword for 250,000) you could choose whether to recieve diamonds or plat when you go to pick it up. The way I see it, this could help the economy a lot by letting folks use whatever kinds of currency they need. The currency should be more backwards-compatible, because I'm noticing a lot of folks wanting to prep stuff nowadays, and finding difficuly in aquiring the diamonds due to their scarcity. A person should be able to pay in either diamonds or plat on a market table. When the item is paid for, the person selling the item should be able to choose which kind of currency they want. This would probably enchance combat as well since everyone would be able to prep their weapon more easily. Slowly but surely, the use of platinum coins seems to be diminishing as more people want diamonds for their stuff, and a lot of people are looking to prep their new weapons.
Try not to tear my ideas apart too bad. |
light.
Inferno for 250,000 SOLD!
Should go for 500,000 to a million. People often seem boggled by my concept of how things are priced. This is all based on the fact that a kingdoms worth is around 5 Billion Plat. Using this sytem it is easy to price things. Diamonds on this scale are worth 750 plat. The current diamond market is 500-600 plat. Diamonds are precious minerals and should not pop out of thin air. People seem to like plat just fine. |
What do you care? You just get items from people for free.
|
Maybe carts [that you rent] or something to hold extra weight in, but also slowing you down a bit in effect. The cart would also be used for trading.
|
That'd be neat, except for the fact that people would place them everywhere like horses and mine carts. I like the idea, but you have to consider how many of them would get into places where they shouldn't be.
|
maybe the carts can only be found in the Market Place and they cant leave the area. a
if they are being rented then rent them out for 10 or 20 plats ? |
Lets jock stuff from FFXI ;O
|
Well, wouldn't it be kind of nice if each Kingdom had it's own currency you had to use on their islands???
LIke, you trade in Plat at Avanik to buy things in Forest. And depending on activity rates, etc, you can determine conversion rates, so, perhaps a Pirate would make more by trading in his 50 pirate money for lets say the... Dustari equivalent, which would most likely make him a rich man in Dustari because of conversion rates.... |
Or not.
|
that would be a dumb idea
