Nice work.

Zero Hour 05-27-2005 09:38 PM

There was potential to show perspective; you should have taken advantage of that...

Hiro 05-27-2005 09:51 PM

How bleak.

Alright, you were trying to make Thor's hammer. It not only is a bad example of a mallet, it also looks nothing like something that a god would have. And yeah, perspective.

Splke 05-28-2005 02:22 AM

<3 Norse Mythology (winkwink)

Derivitive of another online game, the hilt (or w/e you call it) is pretty horrible, and the mallet itself is debateable. Thors Hammer is alot more magnificent.

Xzerowing 05-28-2005 04:42 AM

You guys are so negative =P.

Unpredlctable 05-28-2005 04:54 AM

Eh, I thought it was pretty nice.

If you created graphics and I saw a way which it could be better would you prefer I say "Oh, that's nice" so that I don't hurt your feelings, or that I suggest the way to make it look better?

Did you originally say this or did Darlene edit it that way? Because that is very retarded to say.

I don't think he realizes it's the hammer of Thor.

coreys 05-28-2005 07:24 PM

I'm gonna eventually put a lightning effect so it looks like mjolnir. Making it more "magnificent".

Well...i might. I might get to lazy.

davidpsy 05-28-2005 11:30 PM

I do not think that he is showing a distaste for sugestions of improvement, far be it from him to be a little bit upset when a vast majority of people are throwing negative opinionated comments at him, with actually very little to no sugestions that would result in signifigant improvement, considering that the sugestions were very blunt to begin with, there for I wouldn't think it out of the question to be sympethetic towards how he feels. Not nessarily lie to the man, but don't make out his work to be worse than it is. If you have sugestions for improvement then go into a little more detail, and give him stright sugestions not blunt ones.

We didn't. It's bad.

Detail doesn't seem to work for these people. If we go into detail, they believe that we're being too meticulous and they don't need to listen to us. If we don't, they call us rash and 'blunt' (as you put it).

All I did was remove where he quoted a post that was removed, I didn't touch what is still there

Haha. Donald, I really love it when you try to sound intelligent. I actually never "lol", but your posts lately have just rocked.

Zero Hour 05-29-2005 12:57 AM

Where's Zen? I wish I was the mod of these forums.

Zero Hour as Mod>Iron Fist of Commun...er... friendliness.

If you believe that I'm "trying to sound intelligent" then you're sadly mistaken.

Ya, sure. Your posts lately have been littered with words not needed, and completely not your style. :x Seriously, it's almost annoying. If you're going to try and take that route, atleast get your spelling right. >_> Also, invest in image transparency. *Points to signature*

Zero Hour 05-29-2005 04:57 PM

I'm not sure if it's standard yet in the newer browsers, but I believe if it is you should try a 32Bit PNG.

TonyRivers 05-29-2005 06:49 PM

wow an 8 bit polo stick with no perspective rotated around this is truley magnificent....

my suggestions... lower the contrast on between the wood and the hammer head. Take off those white highlights and make them a softer color. Visualize how the character would look holding this and make perspective changes accordingly, and also take into account how your character would weild such a heavy weapon unless he is just going to swing it around in a circle then you need to add more sprites. Often beginners think sword sprites can be modified to fit any weapon this is wrong. You wouldn't fight with a sword the same way you would with a giant hammer. Any way I hope this helped a little...

NO UR TOTALLY NEGATOIVE.

Joking. Yea, that's pretty much how I feel, besides the sprites - a hammer this large could never be used by graal characters.

coreys 05-29-2005 08:10 PM

It can by a god like me >:]

But really, im open to suggestions like that. I tried perspective on it when i started making it...didn't work too well. ;.;

Oh? I just dropped it in paint and drew some very clear outlines where you could have expressed some perspective and it works pretty good, in my opinion.

Forgive the poor lines, this Wacom mouse ain't so hot.

Mm, the Wacom mouses were never the best.

Xzerowing 05-30-2005 01:45 AM

I think you should make it how zero outlined, it would look cooler.

Agreed. When you have a weapon which shows this much dimesnion, it demands "that much dimension" to be put into it. i lked the first 2 sprites i saw but the rest fell completely into a gameboy rpg due to the lack of 3d wizzyness
