What does g2k1 need?
 

Guys, maybe we can help lance on the revival of g2k1. Let's list what G2k1 needs for survival ;o.

New manager.

I dont see what is wrong with G2K1 other then the fact that it is down.

They need Staff, I think.

Aside from these obvious things (new manager, staff, etc.) what does Graal2001 need? Some ideas of things to change, add or delete?

Well, i was thinking of lifting things.
-Old Bodies
-Bomy Moon
-Instead of kingdoms, how about smaller guilds (and more of them) so thing's aren't crowded so much and things aren't relied on one person.

To be left alone, brought back as old (old bodies etc.), or totally redone... none of this in between stuff.

However, in my mind it's dead.

Stop straying from the topic at hand. What does g2k1 need, content wise. Lets not make this another flame forum, with everyone attacking Lance and him trying to defend himself, lets actully try to make something good out of this thread for a change. I think if we all colaberate ideas it might be good for the server.

Maybe the fact that with you as manager nothing at all has gotten done over the past what? 2-3 years? I really wouldn't mind you being manager I would just like to see you actually work.

How bout Lance tells us what needs to be done, and everyone can just post whatever they make here, and if its good then use it.

Wow, nice going guys. Another thread turned into a flame war... congrats... Now back to the topic of what 2k1 needs, Kyden showed me a good idea he had of a new story for it. It would be redone in a way, but it would be totally better in every aspect than what it is right now. As for him sharing that idea, it's up to him.

What NEEDS to be done is folks trying to make the so called "new generation of graal playerworlds" and send lance an application, i have seen an amazing mix of graphics, scripting, and loads of other stuff spread across 20 different public and private playerworlds.


If lance has time i'm sure folks could give small ideas and actally work on something that many considered great instead of trying their own hand at making their own playerworld, archiac i think, was quite similar to kingdoms, somehow that got scrapped? I don't know, that was lots of good work gone to waste if you ask me, another one...what was it? oasis? What happened to that? If that's such a great server why doesn't anyone from that team help lance? Same as lance (i may be wrong thinking i read this correctly somewhere) the manager did not have the proper skilled staff that he wanted so oasis is on hold for now, and zenkou! Does that have good workers willing to make a difference?

So everyone that has all these groundbreaking ideas for the future just ask lance what he thinks of them, your motivation is what lance needs, give him your ideas and i HOPE some of them can help lance get 2001 up sooner.

Most of those guys never played 2K1. They aren't going to care.

You're forgetting a vital aspect of a playerworld. Which is the manager. The reason that these unfinished playerworlds are around is because people want to work on their own project, not somebody elses.

I would love to work on 2k1. I wouldn't however, love to work under Tseng.

Because we share different views of what 2k1 should be. Because we'd have too many conflicts of interest. Because you seem to be bitter towards everyone, and quick to close any debate relating to yourself if it's something you don't care to hear. Which just means you're going to close off any of my ideas or suggestions that you don't want to hear, without giving them a chance.

Also it's just because I'd rather lead the project than have to worry about it being in someone else's hands. If I'm going to be donating my graphics, sounds, ganis, levels, and scripts (which would most likely be 90% of the development on the server in total)... I'd like to have control over what happens with them, and the server.

The last thing I want to be is the guy who works his butt off and watches the manager do very minimal work, yet still have the right to fire me or take rights away from me, or restrict me, or modify my stuff. I'm not saying you'd be doing minimal work. But if the manager isn't doing a large portion of the development, and they can't find enough staff to keep a big enough team, then what are they there for? To give orders?

While it is great when a manager lends his hand in the development process, that isn't his job. The job of a manager is to basically oversee that the work is being done and to make sure his staff aren't being a bunch of douchebags to the players. While I agree with your feelings reguarding someone having the power to remove you (despite you putting in loads of work) you have to remember how it is in the real world. Imagine the manager as a CEO and you are but a lowly mailroom clerk. You do all the work yet he can still fire you.
