Transparent RC?

I was sitting playing with GAim today, and i discovered i could make the windows a bit transparent. Being so thrilled with that, i was thinking hmm, itd be awsome if i could make my big RC in the background, and maybe even my client transparent to! Sounds like a good idea to me!

I'd imagine you could do it witth the scripted RC. But as for the stand-alone application, then it would be needed to be inserted - but maybe there is a program that makes any window transparent?

Scripted RC? I'd never use that. Yes it would need to be inserted, or a command or something inserted into that file that already lets us coustomize rc. I do not think there is a program that makes all windows transparent, then again, there maybe.

Well there are environments for linux that let you make windows transparent, with real transparency using OpenGL. Sun will also release something like that soon. Transparent terminals or so use a different techinque though, kind of software-alpha blending. If there is some library for that then it could be supported, although it is probably not high-priority :)

Not gonna happen. You'd need to modify the actual source code.

I believe you can add libraries in "PE Explorer" though I'm not sure how you would call the commands from the libraries... perhaps it's possible to make your RC transparent that way (windows)

Also, Stefan; could you compile/release a windows binary of the Linux RC

Windows 2000 Pro and Windows XP have built in support for transparent windows.
I really don't see this as being a high priority though.

*smashes windows cd with a hammer* Yes, but who has the time to make a program to make a window see-through? Especially for Windows, Ew.

Anyway, I found this:
http://www.absoluteway.com/tweakwind...ent_window.htm

I'm sure if you googled for a few minutes you could find a fully free program. Although, depending on how much you really wanted it that isnt a bad price.
