1930s rp server?
 

I thought about making a 1930's mafia/crime rp server. It would take place in a city like New York, in of couse the 1930's it would have of couse mafia gangs but along with that it would have thugs and hoodlems. The thing is it would be a role playing server with your actions played out in text, But the fighting I dont think could be text. Becuse simpley like its impossiable to dodge a bullet and like what would keep someone from making up some bogus story and saying "::shoots::". Then the people who think Role Playing Admins would, I dont really like/trust them. Most of them dismiss normal leget rps just becuse there friend was on the loosing end or what not. So then we thought about making it where the players would have hitpoints. (like 5 hitpoints) to keep the fights short and realistic but still give the player to avoid dieing every time when your character died he was truley dead you would have to start a new one. (Yes the bullets would be sped up to be more realistic but it would almost be undodgable at close range but from further away there a little more dodgable). But in a server where someone can die in two or three shots from a gun there would have to be items in the streets to hide behind and what not. Well its not that I want to own/even work for a server like this I just wana see one go up but do you think anyone would want/play it?

Probably those banned on Era, and a few extra none-banned maybe.

I've been wanting to create a 1930's based server for about 2 years now. I don't complain when someone actually puts it forward. Anyway, aren't you working on like 2 other server anyway?

The 30s were boring in comparison to many other decades. Plus, the gangster idea has really weared out its welcome.

I was originally working on a 1930's server but then they asked me to come to atrius, and bull**** you have.

Oh yeah? I made graphics for it, I made scripts. A 1930s server would be an interesting investment, and since I'm an interested guy, I've thought of alot of original idea that I haven't seen. You should have kept on with your 1930s server, it probably would have been more original than Atrius is now. It's visually slightly less than era, with custom bodies :P

Does it really matter who stole your concept that inevitably YOU stole from a time period?

1. Think of a concept or plan for server.
2. Create fun, interesting server that is actually FUN -- not tedious or undesirable.
3. Enjoy.

Somebody make a server where once you logon all you do is a Mocarina gani :) I would play that so much.

a World War/World War 2 Server would be a good idea. but would we be segurgated from blacks in your server ?

Plus, a war server would be too hard to develop, if you don't count Zone.. it's not really a war server.

Were you making one with Verlela and Lance Leone at one point?

No, at one point, I was making it on my own, because I don't need and "OMG leet" levels team and an "OMG leet" graphics team and I really don't need an "OMG leet" scripting team. I could have gotten by on my own, but it was the lack of motivation and a tonne of boredem that shut the project down. No one likes to work on a server they don't enjoy working on ;)

I'd have shown you some screenshots and some graphics, but I had a system wipe not too long ago and well, everything I drew or did for graal was lost. 1 month later, I've got a tonne of **** for babylon, haha.

But you would always have people playing to PK insted of rp if you used a active PK system so text would be the only way to go.

rp hand to hand combat is fine, but roleplaying guns is really *** :\

I want to create a Modern RP server...like GK with 3d Terrain and stuff but modern...that would be fun...with lots of skills...like computer programming, and hacking, agriculture, cooking, mining, then like street paving or something I dunno

I dunno I rped like starwars lasers its ok if you have decent rpers who dont think they can go into matrix bullet time and god mode and be untouched.

Zim: you could introduce elements to the game which reward roleplaying, perhaps RP admins who watch people and reward them, or some sort of system, I don't know, im not quite the RP type.

I dont like RP admins val has them and alot of them are like nicer to there friends then anyone else they always pick the persons side with the most hours and I dont wana get off on a rant but I just dont trust them. I think people could kinda stay in line, As long as they know they cant dodge bullets and what not.
