Abuse of HTML in PM's

Some idiot (ihatedarkcloud) is sending PM's containing this:

Quote:

<body onload="while(2)alert ('BAN GRAAL')">
It displays an infinite number of alert messages. Very annoying. Looking through the graal config file i see you can turn off html, why is this on by default? Anyway, i think you should disable javascript in PM's.

I think there should only be a certian bit of html allowed in pms.. like the ability to change font color and type and stuff.

This HTML bug has been around for as long as I remember and nothing has ever been done to remove it. You could disable HTML in PMs.

Graal 3 has it's own HTML parser so it doesn't work.
As for Graal 2, it is a problem.
Disabling HTML is the easiest way until it's looked at.

I remember Bart used to advertise www.dragonfire.com or something like that....

This porn site of his. You'd open a PM back on 1.28 and there would be this huge ***** on the screen from HTML.

Wow, those were the days...

I think one of the GPs on UN got fired for doing that one time. This was a couple of years ago I think, and had something to do with lemon(?) porn.

o.O ..... *doesn't ask*

Ahahaha I know which image your on about. Lets just say it has nothing to do with lemons.

Anyway back on topic, I do think this is one one the longest stacking things which need to be fixed in Graal :/.

It would be good if it was removed though... it has been an annoyance for so long now.

"Some idiot" is right. Good old Deacon haha.

Anyways. Instead of completely disabling HTML code and all that in Graal PM's, just disable that pop-up window code (alert).

or all of javascript.

Just make the default for HTML in PMs as "No HTML"...? I don't see why everything has to be complicated.

No. Cause we are fat lazy bastards who want our links and malicious scripts accessible without changing any options whatsoever!

Minoc 03-13-2005 05:55 AM

My suggestion: ban him.

Does this make it a little clearer for you?
