WIP Level

Rate it SENSIBLY 1-10 on what is done

linkoraclehero 03-06-2005 07:37 PM

Sexy! 8, cause I have seen better, but ALOT more worse xD

Crono 03-06-2005 08:18 PM

The dirt to grass tiles look a bit plain, try curving it at some points or something, because it looks too boring. Cliff needs to be more flexible, by that I mean more random and some part sticking out more.

Detail needs work, too many bushes, I like the use of trees, good job with the shadow perspective, I see tile errors on the beach (someone else will probably mark it for you), too many dirt rocks.

4.5/10

:D

Like i said WIP

The beach tiles are fixed and the cliffs... can't be fixed without redoing the whole level

Update: possibly done

csod123 03-07-2005 12:07 AM

i will give it a 7.5, with what they said, the cliffs standout out too much, and then there is the error on the beach, other than that i like it.

zell12 03-07-2005 12:32 AM

Grass needs to be clumped, not spread out like that. It will look much nicer. :)

Are you looking at the first one or the second one?

The second one i'd call done

Kaimetsu 03-07-2005 03:59 PM

Why do you convert to bitmap?

Akoalin 03-07-2005 05:03 PM

Get giffy, it turns bmps into GIFs. Since GIFs don't have too many colors you shouldn't use them for screenshots with lights in them.

Kaimetsu 03-07-2005 05:23 PM

It should never be a bitmap to begin with.

protagonist 03-07-2005 06:17 PM

It should be binary.

Inspiration 03-07-2005 06:19 PM

I don't really like the _|- shape of the cliff, but it seems like itll turn out to be a decent level.

I'm talking about the second one. :/

You know I hate it when people use tons of those "different" grass tiles and they never use any normal green ones. I like the idea, but you have too much open space. The cliff tiles aren't bad.

huh?

zell12 03-07-2005 11:32 PM

He used ~80 grass tiles (I counted the half-grass tile errors as well :P) and not alot of the other ones. I'm not sure what you mean by what you said, but uh, it would be nice if he clumped this grass together... :)

Waltz5 03-08-2005 12:30 AM

What I meant was this. It's exaggerated but people go overboard on the extras. So I liked how he didn't do that, but still needs more. He needs to find the happy medium.

zell12 03-08-2005 03:14 AM

Yeah, I hate that. It looks retarded.

Doahh_p2p 03-08-2005 04:25 AM

I hate the servers that have that for all orf their level "Detial"

I'm of a different generation of Graal level makers, too stubborn to change to the new style that came around the time of NewMain, so yeah, I really can't stand the really detailed grass. Most of the time it's senseless.

The top (elevation wise, acting as if this isn't a single plain) part of your house is not tiled properly in the corners, the building itself is a bit short (I like bigger buildings because it makes more sense with character size), and there are walking stones in random places. The house shouldn't have just windows for all the walls. The earth itself is too detailed, however. Your cliffs are kind of bland (non varying height, like a single ribbon being moved around) with a couple tile errors (when connecting to the earth).

On the bright side, I like that you didn't have the wet dirt exactly mirror the water it connects to. I like how you can see where the land would slope down a little, allowing the moisture to soak in the earth. Also, I thank you for not putting bush stumps, as they are stupid to as a default in the level (bush stumps are for when bushes are cut, in game).
