Atrius: 3rd Run
 

Greetings.
Some of you are familiar with my playerworld started nearly 1 year ago, most of you are not. I know some of the graal community isn't into the modern style, but I invite you to come around and check it out anyways.
My purpose for this post: to have you all come take a look, and intice some of the skilled developers of graal to help produce a better modern server. We've already got a good base to start on, but we are also attempting to innovate the style of a modern server by implementing complex systems for social and player growth activity, catchy graphics, and a hint of classic. If you are interested in the development, come see us and we will take a look at your work. I personally need a graphics team to help with the new bodies, which is only in its graphics stage and has much work to be done. Anyways, I'll stop the babble, just come by and relax on our beach if your bored. ;)

some is nice, some is real average, some is even worse.
the quality is really inconsistant; for example look at that beach house in comparison to the trees. its like comparing your own feces to a diamond necklace.

Them graphics look ugly, I don't see why people try to make a new Era, you might aswell do something like Ol'West. They have a cowboy theme, the graphics are awesome. It's like you just took Era, with ugly GFX made by 10 other people.

I live in florida... that palm tree doesnt look like a palm treee, and those tilese look like theyve been stolen or recolored not all of it but bits and pieces

Wow what the ****, anytime someone else has a modern server, everything must be ugly, and the tiles must be stolen, im sorry all your servers suck balls and you have to use the classic tileset. Its not my fault you cant hire a decent gfxer. I guarantee the people who posted in this thread either play Aeon and think its the best looking server ever, or they play era, in snakes case ya ****in smartass snake..

I didn't ask for uneducated or possibly immature bashing of graphics, graphics are opinion in any case. Some people will like a certain style, some won't, but graphics alone do not make up a server. Thats why I asked people to come by.

By the way, I live in florida and some palm tree's do look like that so shut the **** up you worthless ****ing aeon player.

What did you think people were going to do when u posted Enerith? It's not just like it was one post, and locked. It was open to discussion, and people said they didn't like it. I wouldn't be pissed off about, but realize, sometimes they have validity to what they say, sometimes, it's coming out of their rear.

I'll get to the point because it already cancelled my post request once. Its true, feedback is a manager's best improvement op. However, I'm tired of hearing negative graphics feedback. If the graal tileset was made of something else, people would bash a classic tileset being introduced, just like they do to modern now. My thought: people need to open up a bit. They will accept a 2 color shading method on 90% of their servers, whereas we put time and detail into our graphics. I'm not saying classic is bad, an established graphic artist can do anything he/she wants, but its the style they choose away from norm. that people love to criticize.

By detail, you mean Photoshop filters?
We have a right to our opinion. Are you James?
Gman, you are capable of doing so much more, but your ****ing attitude is your downfall. You could probably work on Unholy Nation.

sorry oki, but imo UN is like the worst server, its pretty confusing and just a mess of pointless levels, if the server layout was better and there was a theme it would be good.

Snake, he doesn't use photoshop filters *******. You just flame because you want era to be around forever, thus every other modern server is ugly has bad gfx etc.

Dude, you are so annoying. You wonder why people bother you on these forums. I don't want to put your server down (forget your name, the thread starter), so please don't take this the wrong way.. Gman, you cant face the fact that something isn't too good, just because you don't like the person who said it isn't.. You think it is good because it resembles your work, and you can't face that your work sucks. That's your problem.

and also i have a palm tree right outside my window lol and its not so close togeither its much fatter, and theirs seeds hanging off it. Also the img is two greenish palmtrees are actully a brownish greenish color that looks more like a poted plant branch

Oh boy... follow with me here. This... Graal, its a game. We don't care if it looks like the exact thing in real life. Does the classic tree look like a real tree? I'm pretty sure I've seen that thing at an amusement park but thats about it. Not so hard is it. :) Oh and G is right, about 95% of that picture is pure MSPaint. Heres another one for ya.

I don't know...if it feels and plays like it did before I will hate it...I just hated the guns and the movement system before...O.o

I liked it all well almost all of it that pizza place lamed with there food and acted more like a gang then anything :-/

Those palm trees are stolen from my playerworld, SSH. I suggest you remove them before I get home this evening...

Ok wow. The tiles are nice. Good job on those, but that body is hideous. I'm not sure if you're going for the deformed look, but that body style just bothers me. x_x

Why would you say something so blatantly ignorant? Did you personally make that palm tree? No. So how in the name of all that is holy would you know if it's stolen or not? Jeesh.

That palm tree was made for my playerworld before the new Atrius project existed by Lance Leone when he was staff for me. Whether he is using work for SSH and spreading it for tryouts elsewhere...or you guys just took it...it needs to come down now.

tony thinks the bodies are very well done, and tony rivers opinion matters. Lance works for us and he made the palm tree ok? its ours. your server is ugly, its a gk clone, eat me. besides he modified it a little, so its not the same, its not stolen, he made it, he modified it.

Listen, it's very simple:

• The palm tree was made for SSH - making it illegal content for you to use, regardless if Lance works for you now.

• Editing a graphic a tiny bit (And you didn't except for the base) does not make it elligable for use.

Take it down, or I'll have to do this the boring way...*Yells for Spark*

um lance can modify his gfx and use it where he wants.

I'm pretty sure that once it is uploaded to a gserver it is Graal's gfx. Not "Lance's." :rolleyes:

Such as when my buddy dell deleted Zone....He got moaned at and it was re-uploaded.

Yada yada yada... anyways, I don't even want to hear about stolen graphics. "OMG HAX I'LL SHUT U DWN IF U DONT TAKE OFF MY DEAD SERVERS GRAPHX" (No offense to anyone.) I've just had entire servers of graphics taken right out from under me before, with no or little action from the pwa's. Heck, a certain PW I know is still using our modified graphics which have been reported for a considerable time. I too, wish people could just take the time to make their own stuff. How I handle it -> a quick apology, so... sorry for the misunderstanding Curt, Lance thought he could upload the graphics since your server seemed to be idle. Deleted. Anyhow, heres a progress pic... thanks to Vinnie our guy isn't naked anymore.

Another little screeny, we got new-new bods in... and our overworld is coming a long. After the major systems we will be ready to go. :)

Gman, every other post you make has a censored word in it. Just shut up, you don't help. If Curtis is the curtis from old Futura, then his graphics are far from ugly.

The Screenshots are good, Enerith, and I really like the new body :) The only thing that gets me though is something have a pitch black outline which doesn't blend well with the surroundings. Maybe if you changed the outline colour to a darker shade of grey, but lighter than black o.o Anyway, keep it up, and if I was you, I'd tell Gman to shut up ;)

*sigh* Well, it's not so much that you guys cant gfx, it's that you guys cant shade. Learn to shade properly and learn to make good details and texture. Right now everything on the server sucks....bad. Especially the bodies.

Ugh. Do you guys believe you would make this PW if you have never seen Era? Really now, can you honestly say yes to that question? If I was you, I would make something original. Something never seen before. Looking at that I think"Era" and I think "Unoriginal." There are so many possibilities, and if you really want to keep modern theme, many possibilities with that as well. Such as a modern-samurai type age deal. Or maybe a modern time in a alternate reality with lower technology in some spots, and other techs like robots and such. But to copy the exact theme of era - come on.
