How do you like my new idea
 

Well a time comes when i will run out of time for my server so i am thinking that i am going to do what i started long ago and is to make a kind of game with graal. Not like servers but if graal is down and needs to be worked on everyone could just come on my game and wait. It would be free, it will not have like awsome graphics because i am going to use graal developer to make it. I hope you guys like it. Also i put a few graphics to show you kind of what i was thinking, One is the log in and the other is the character maker thing ;)

Man, this is never gonna happen. If nothing else, how often is Graal actually down? Something like 0.1% of the time?

Personally, it's split opinion.

I find that if the playerworld you do in itself if of low quality, and very shortminded, then it would probably not attract enough players to play it. If they make it in the thought of players to play it when the servers are down... Most players play because it's online -- A mean of social activity. If the servers were down, they'd complain on the forums for the entire time it's down, and elsewise, they would just move on to other things in their life.

If the playerworld itself is great, then I suppose it'll be like classic gameboy games. They would be played practically until the game is over, and they would repeat the process. The problem with that, however, is that Graal has a opened editor, meaning that anyone can alter the scripts, steal them, and put them online. Thus, again, it would be favored over yours because of the concept of multiplayer (Graal is a Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game. The audience are MMORPG players).

I would like to see something of that sort being created, however it would probably not work. Mainly because all the people who has any type of skill are, on the large part, already working on a server. I doubt they'd wish to help you with the server because they have nothing in return. Most of the online worlds don't have anything in return except power and fame. Your game would only provide a chance of fame, but no power whatsoever. That said ... Only few people would actually be involved.

Overall, I say it's a good idea if well thought out, but it is likely to be a major waste of time.

If it is likely to be a major waste of time, save yourself the trouble. Most players wouldn't be intrested in a temporary hangout.

It's a pathetic idea, you asked us what we thought of the idea, you can't accept our answer.

Why is it such a bad idea? More game content = good.

Graal may never go down, and we may not need a "backup plan", but having another game to play for the sake of playing a game is always good. As long as it was fun :)

if it was done well; i dont see why it should only be played when graals down; and if that were the case we couldnt even discuss it on graal, lol.

I had that idea for a while (3 years) just never came out and said it. I might still do it. And i want ask stefan if can use graal editor and pisc1.png to make my own game. Not to sell just to futher expand Graal itself. Does anyone like my character select image and my login image?

If you want to expand graal, make a graal server, there is no point in making an expansion outside of graal for graal.
