Flame creature...of sorts...with a skull head...x-x
1 Attachment(s)
Made this about 2 hours ago in about.....1 hour. Tell me what you think.
|
Not bad, but it could use a lot of work. A bit blurry also, and the flames sort of mess up the actual creature.
|
Pretty interesting. I don't like the use of the smudge tool in there. The rays of shine are a nice touch. Also, is that a cape on his right shoulder?

If I am looking at the same part as you, I'd say it was supposed to be a blade of some sort attached to his armor. |

Looks pretty cool. The flames look nice.

Neat.

X_X Made him very fast and carelessly...then got bored with him and wanted to finish the image. Hence only 1 hour on him.
Let me clarify a few things. The weird thing on his left is a cape. Poorly drawn, given, but a cape. It was originally an awesome arm among other things I didn't think was in balance with the other side so I eliminated it lazily with a cape. As far as using the smudge tool...it was actually primarily push. Only used on flames obviously - but I sort of like the effect it gives when creating flames, although these are not even close to the most realistic flames I've created, with time and effort using those tools. Maybe you guys don't like it, dunno. The character has no smudging/pushing on him at all. |
I like it, altough some things are a bit unclear. What I do not like though, is that the upper-left part of the head (from our side ;) ) sort of dissapears in the mountain background.

Perhaps a bit too much contrast. One thing I failed to do (because of laziness) was apply more of the flame generated lighting to the character - and that really takes away from any realism this image has. But like I said, I got bored of it and wanted to finish it off quickly. I still sort of liked how it turned out which is why I posted it. |
I like it, but please please don't do what ever other damn person does - Justify the lack of quality by saying you only spent "X" ammount of time on it.
Seriously, you don't need to blame quality on time. It looks good. Just...don't do it. If you don't think you spent enough time, then work on it and post it when fully complete. |

Interesting. I didn't spend enough time on it. I said that. I said I am not interested in working on this guy anymore as well. The quality isn't up to my standards, and it is because I tend to spend around 7 hours on a piece rather then 1. An no, I don't want to finish it. Some things are justified. So don't ask me not to justify something that deserves it. |
