Guild Limitations

Is there going to be some sort of guild limitations set on accounts? I was thinking of eliminating multiguilding to some extent, and creations of guilds.

I have no clue what these should be set to but I am tired of seeing 20 different guilds on classic and usually the same members are in all the guilds.

Are you talking about Global guilds? I would agree, I think you can already only be leader of one global guild, but there are no limitations on how many you can join, I think there should be a cap on that, but I dont think they will do it.

I agree with a cap. I think four guilds should be the maximum allowed. I could probably pull up some accounts that are in 50 + guilds at the moment.

I would say two guilds, maximum.

ApothiX 02-16-2005 07:57 PM

It is, and should remain, the discretion of the guild leaders to allow multiguilders into their guild or not

I'm in at least seven guilds. I may wish to join more. Don't take that away from me.

The limitations to make a guild should be more then just having a Gold or VIP account. We probably got one guild to every person upgraded. Stuff like this is killing Classic because part of our playerbase is guilds, and with so many guilds out there, it is easy to be in one so nobody cares about it anymore, so they move on.

I liked it when there wasn't very much guilds, damn you guildCP. Why can't you stop working when I want you to?

Also, some guilds like brb paused afk graal addict etc are not even "real" guilds. The guild I still remain true to is SNC

I remember back when to be in a guild was a rare and special occasion. Not so, anymore.

Why not give the guild leader the option of limited guilds or not, and how many. I know that Baddies allows one other guild that has to be a family guild. I bet you could make some scripts so that they can set that up in options, or your account is suspended from the guild.

That wouldn't be a bad idea.

maximus_asinus 02-17-2005 04:59 PM

If Bhala was guild admin today, we'd have half the guilds we do today.
I think Tux should make a sweep and delete some guilds that don't have a high activity percentile.
I still say there should be some type of limitations.

p2p_Sir_Link 02-24-2005 04:48 AM

pre-p2p, there were few guilds. You had to strive for excellence and acheivement to receive the honor of an invite. I suggest Guild Creation be cut to older members, and VIPs, rather than all gold. I'm tired of all these guilds that start with potential, so I join, and I see the same Secret has Co-Leader ownage lolzowowski and the guild becomes crap. Either global-ban secret, or kill guilds.

Is it just me, or did this not make any sense at all?

Anyways, I can see limiting guilds, as they appear, become popular for a bit, then die a pathetic, forgotten death. Though, as it is, i'm in eight guilds or so.. maybe seven if KittaH kicked me out (again) for not playing UN >.> Anyways, I agree with letting guild leaders decide about a cap for their members that they have to meet in order for them to join.
I'd like to see it again where its an honor to be in a guild. And yes, more family 'guilds,' too. Mar Sana.
