Indeed... And graal3d is somewhat of a big download so I'm gonna wait for 3.15 for windows I guess before downloading another version... I think my G3d is pretty old (if thats possible x.X)

I fear the Mac version will not be ready today because there are several things I need to fix / recode to make it work correctly on Mac

Stefan you are probably aware of his but, when people use the graal3 client on a server they can't be hurt with a sword. Where as they can hurt other people, but can't be hurt themselves. It's incredibly annoying when playing on a playerworld and people are abusing a bug.

LordZen 01-29-2005 08:05 PM

Wow thats a pretty bad bug lol.

Would that also affect gun shooting on Zone? Somebody was complaining the other day of a kid getting shot alot and nothing happening to him.

must only be a few servers...swords hurt me on both classic and UN...

Admins 01-29-2005 08:36 PM

I have heard of problems with the sword in earlier versions because the player was always in pause mode, but i have not seen any problems with the recent versions and was not able to get in an un-hurtable mode (tested with some people although it's not easy to find a server who still uses the old clientside-hurt detection). If you think you know some way to do that, please report it on the bugs forum.
There is no problem with the projectiles, the detection is on server-side.

The linux version is quite nice. I think many people will have problems dealing with OpenGL drives. It lagged quite a bit because Linux often uses the mesa (software rendering) by deafult. Once I installed the video drivers (ati uses the fglrx set) we were good :) There were problems with 3D servers, and running it via command-line it was because the snowman and some other things were not in folder config. Once I updated the folder config it downloaded a lot more things. Problem went after it started loading and rendering grass, kept getting a segmentation fault on Mushia. Also I played UN for a bit, but after I played for a bit I couldn't even log on player because it would segmentation fault on me and it'd close (last thing in log was loading map unmap.txt). I think the problem might have been due to missing car_Idle.gani file. It seems Linux (and I'm assuming mac as well) versions encounter problems with missing files (as I found on nearly all servers they called for cached files or so that weren't actually on the server).

There are not problems with missing files. The only problem on Unholy nation were messed up mngs, but it was fixed in 3.14. If you find things that crash the client please tell me at which server and level.
There are also problems with automapping on big maps.

Skyld 02-08-2005 01:50 PM

I get random segfaults too, but I have not yet established a pattern to them.
I shall look again later; see what I can make of it.

On 3D it stopped loading on files that it couldn't download, and then once I fixed those (they were there, just not in folder config) it worked fine. After playing UN< I got a segfault, and then it wouldn't let me play anywhere because it'd segment fault when I tried to move or sometimes just at connection. I just redid ./graalinstall.sh and they went away... how weird. Still though, 3D has problems after rendering grass or so it segment faults.

How can a linux version fail, or does he mean Graal doesn't work on it ?

I believe he means the distribution. And by it failing I'm guessing he means he wasn't able to make it work properly...

Obs311 02-20-2005 07:36 AM

It could be the versions of Linux, but I'm not sure. They keep making upgrades for it so Graal may not be compatible with the new verisons of Linux.

Or he decided that he didn't like it.
