Movement in the new Graal version

I've found that people seem to move differently than in the older clients. They don't seem to finish the ganis all the way. Not to mention, now the spin tech doesn't work which has screwed up my spar.

Why is it like that now? Why is everyone moving smoother, and not with the "Graal movements" and if it's "Nothing really" then change it back. x_x

Evil_Trunks 01-20-2005 03:59 AM

Maybe he is doing it on purpose so everyone will rescript their movement and attack systems.

>_<

LilNiglet 01-20-2005 05:08 AM

How about a serverop to disable\enable the new movement?

Evil_Trunks 01-20-2005 05:15 AM

We are talking about the default movement which is built into the client

I dont think you understand

Zero Hour 01-20-2005 05:18 AM

The co-ordinates are more accurate now, and the location data is sent more often than it was in the old client, so anyone using the new client would appear to move more fluently.

Darlene159 01-20-2005 05:31 AM

I like it, people dont lag all over the place...skipping and stuff

Pickles you ownz us all...anyways back to proper grammar. The new movement system is kinda hard to get used to at first when pking, but once you are good with it, it is a lot of fun. Also a lot less laggy. YAY.

Skyld 01-20-2005 09:55 AM

Precision movement does look strange, but it also looks nicer.

Admins 01-20-2005 02:02 PM

The movement has not been changed, the position is just sent more often. Once the old clients are disabled we can also turn on higher precision (will be enabled for players and npcs).

Unpredlctable 01-20-2005 03:24 PM

Yes, it doesn't look to be more "precise" from the previous version, per se, but it seems to be smoother-ish.
Although it doesn't get rid of the annoyance of people with 14kbps dial-up modems with their teleporting and all. Oh well, there's still 2006.

LogicBot 01-21-2005 01:21 AM

It sucks. >_<

And yes I use spin, and I would kill you with it in under 5 seconds in a spar.

Their should be a way to unset the accuracy of the monements then. I hate this thing.

haro41 01-21-2005 01:47 AM

i think its cool. im sure everyone will get used to it.

It's affecting the walk gani amonst other things, it makes it appear as though it's going much much faster than normal. Is this a symptom of the data being sent more often?

Also, please bring back the maximize button and let us set our own window sizes :frown: Why was that taken out?

Only a couple preset resolutions up to 800*600 and not over.
Full screen stretches it out.

I don't even want higher resolutions, i just want to be able to resize my window :frown:

WanDaMan 01-21-2005 11:25 AM

The new system looks great when sparring

What are you talking about?
The only case when you cannot resize the window is when you use v3.1 and select Direct3D as gfx driver, which is not recommended.

Nappa 01-21-2005 10:47 PM

Spin is LAME. That's why it's looked down apon, not that it's weak (Even though it is.)

I make it look good.

Nappa 01-22-2005 08:36 PM

You make it look like a spinny piece of monkey poo.

LogicBot 01-22-2005 08:40 PM

Only because you suck at sparring. ;)

Nappa 01-22-2005 08:42 PM

UN. 3 minutes. SEE YOU THERE SON.

maximus_asinus 01-22-2005 09:40 PM

I think the new version combined with classic's movement system is kind of annoying. Everything looks like NPCs running around.

LogicBot 01-23-2005 02:01 AM

Nappa, where were you? ^^

Hehe! Show some respect! We bought our dial-up before anyone even heard of "DsL" or "cable"... Some might call us old-school. ^^

There are no minimize or maximize buttons on the 3.1 client, you should bring those back ;)

matt8891 01-26-2005 09:00 PM

And no more snapshot taking of levels. :frown:
