How to not get scammed.
 

It seems that most scamming happens because of stupidity and/or ignorance. In cheerful light of these facts, I am creating this thread to help those who are stupid and/or ignorant. Please post any pearls of wisdom that you may have that will help the less fortunate. Please refrain from spamming. Thank you.

1) Do all trades in trading rooms. If someone wants to trade in the middle of nowhere, especially even if the (safe trade I think I saw it called) is not used, then it would be wise to decline, and ask to use a trading room.

2) Right click items on the trading table. If the info about the item does not appear (giving allowable time for lag) in the bottom right of your screen, then you can assume the item is not really there, and someone is doing the ol' "drag the icon to the table" party trick. (This has now been declared a bug, and using it is now bug abuse. It will be fixed soon.)

3) If the item information does show when you right click it, then the item is there. w00t. But did you see the trader put down the items? If not, ask them to pick the items up, and lay them down again. This should avoid the table bug where the items are stuck on the table which many, many people have fallen victim to.

These are a few hints that should help those stupid and/or ignorant people out there who may get, or have been, scammed.

Like I said before, if you know something that will help, add it, otherwise don't spam. If this thread works out well, maybe a sticky?
