I've just gotten so bored that I've stumbled upon what could be the most humorous phenomenon of all time.

The Graal Trading Card Game!

Some time ago... a ton of people made these kinds of cards

I seriously doubt they can copyright a "look and feel" or a "format", it's meant as a joke anyways, if the wizards of the coast says something, ya, maybe, but I doubt they will. :P People print cards off the internet and laminate them to play magic, it's cheaper, and I've never heard of wizards of the coast complaining about it, they aren't a record company, they aren't blizzard. :P

I made this back in 2001 or so. Wow I was a noob.

Come on, at least I am making the cards realistic, those are all so overpowered. :P

The game itself is copyright if you were do it exactly. You would need to change alot of concepts in the game to get it to work (we're working on it now)

I was actually working on an original non-magic style card game for 2k1.

It was pretty cool, actually.

I might make it one day, but for the record, a Graal card game is nothing new- it's been treied several times

Hmmm... if people would actually be interested in this perhaps I could make it. At the very least could do collectable cards. I remember Dark Diamond I believe it was had a card game of their own. They also took global staff and made special gold cards out of them that were powerful but very rare (they made me the best :P Partially because they needed me to help script it lol). Perhaps I will do a poll or so later on?

Hmm if you could tell me where to get a magic card template i could run off a bunch of these cards. I of course have no artistic talent so it'd have to be screenshot and template based :)

lol those are pretty cool, Raelyn. I played MtG for a couple years once apon a time. Used to be a fun way to pass the time. I still have, omg, alot of mint rares in a box somewhere. None newer than planeshift I dont think. No, I take that back, I think I bought a couple boxes from one of the 3 sets of a newer group.

Intresting, needless to say.

I am making them of all GK players. :P I'm not actually designing it to be playable, they are just fun collectables. :D

If anyone wants to submit some screenshots for use in cards, they need to be 255x208 to go on the card properly, and if it is a player, provide wc / ac and a quote if you like. :D

can you show me the template you used? I think I'd prefer making my own of me, and possibly I could help you out with this.

There are three, actually. :P

I am using comic sans 10 for all the text except wc/ac which is comic sans 8. White for everything except the flavor box, which is black. Itali for the quotes, as you can see. :D As far as the icons for strength etc, I just took a screenshot of my Q menu and pulled the icons from there.

Obviously you're not going to use the templates that say Illus. Raelyn Keizauft, but you can use the other one to make your own which are similar. :D

Note: Since this isn't actually a real cardgame (yet?), there are obviously some rules that would be different for certain things. For instance mages like myself would probably have their cards slightly different, like this (positive spellpower=good), since it wouldn't be fair to judge their weapon prowess :). Sorry if you don't like it.
