Suggestion [Stefan, Read]

Well, I think it would be a good idéa to have 1 little category here on the forum where Guests can post. That way, if people have any questions or something, they can get help here aswell.

Good or bad idéa?

Zurkiba 11-23-2004 03:12 PM

I personally like the idea...
It would increase playercount.

Well granted that all the forum users currently posting are nice to them and answer their questions fully.

zell12 11-23-2004 04:39 PM

It would have to be monitored strictly though, but I like this idea.

GrowlZ1010 11-23-2004 06:02 PM

I'd like to see a series of subforums where everyone with Graal accounts - be they trial, Classic, whatever - could post, certainly.

Crono 11-23-2004 06:04 PM

This'll further de-value Gold/VIP, so by doing this they need to do something for us.

Not guests, but maybe Classic accounts with access to Graal Main, Future Improvements and NGRT. There can be a moderator queue thing too though, you can post but no one can see it until aproved. It could make use of this feature.

Zero Hour 11-23-2004 06:54 PM

I absolutely agree with Spark's quotes, and those are the first thoughts that entered my mind on this subject.

It would be fun, but there would be so much to do to control it I can never see it working very well.

davidpsy 11-23-2004 09:44 PM

It would decrease the value of the current gold/vip time. It would also bring mostly spam, (into that section).

However, I think it would be wise if we were to edit the rule that doesnt allow people to post for others, and make it so, its okay for people to post questions for others in a forum section for doing so. This way, you get sort of a filter for the spam. However, that would mean people would be constantly bugging people with forum access to go post for them, So there are draw backs on that as well.

Zero Hour 11-23-2004 09:46 PM

Keep the current rules. Good idea, can't be implemented well, that's my opinion.

I agree here, Spark needs to create another thread like last time that said "WHATS WRONG WITH THESE FORUMS" so we can have input again.

It sort of promotes account sharing (Allowing other people to post for someone), although not always. But it also reduces the amount of people who upgrade gold really, because some may not if they can have someone else post for them.

Btw: NOOB. That was removed today :spam: :spam: :spam: (It was suggested in that thread)

No it wont, because we would be posting minor things.

wtf you calling me a noob?

Malinko 11-23-2004 10:36 PM

Only Classic accounts, not trail X_x.

davidpsy 11-23-2004 10:43 PM

Even classic accounts are pretty common, either allow us to post messages for others, or make the Graal Desk Support Center actually active.

Kinda kills the idea of the: Graal Communication Center (reserved for gold and vip subscribers)

Yes, but it opens up the possibility of expanding the community, which is much needed might I add, and broadens the chance of those "olbies" renewing their account and playing 2k2 or 3D.

Negative... you have the freedom to post what you want where you want. These people would have to send posts to moderators.

The Evil Within 11-27-2004 03:15 PM

I like how you're all arguing about how giving people access to ONE section on these forums (as Spark said the posts would be monitered and restricted to be only posted when somebody needs help) could possibly destroy the entire service of Gold/VIP.

You guys really do make me laugh sometimes. :)

How can it destroy the entire service if it's only one section and has strict rules?

People without Gold or VIP can use the support center. Also making an updated FAQ might help better I guess

Minoc 11-30-2004 12:26 PM

I think CLASSIC accounts should be granted access to Tech Support and Future Improvements forums, and these two alone.

zokemon 12-01-2004 03:25 AM

People would not read a single rule and would spam like crazy...

Which is why if it was to be done they'd probably have them on a restricted access to where the mods would have to preview the posts, like Spark said.

Going in circles is fun. :)

Hum, but then you figure, there must be over 5k classic accounts, and most of them are multiple owned... You figure, you'd not be able to restrict access to the accounts if they had multiple instances of accounts, not to mention a random IP...

-Chance blows ass

If only certain sections will be opened, there would be no use of that.

If they can detect whether or not you are gold to give you access to the boards I don't see why it would be very hard to set it so if you are not gold that you would have to have your posts previewed by a mod before they get posted, reguardless of their IP or the user making the post. Although I'm sure you already thought of that one before enlightening me with your ohso intelligent piece of mind.

And Minoc, you're kinda right, but you also wouldn't want the classic accounts spamming tech support because its the only forum they can post in.

Simple answer. You pay for gold/VIP, they monitor the account and the email / IP addy that it signed up with. However, I still have my original Graal account (when it just became p2p), and I would like to think many other people do as well. You cannot monitor that-of-which has a near infinite value.

Unless there would be zero-tolerance for spam and threads off topics for Classic players. :P

Projectshifter 12-07-2004 05:28 AM

Sadly I see this as a huge waste of resources to make it moderable. I don't know about the other globals, but it would be a significant hassle and would eleminate my time quite efficiently and make it harder to get important things done :(

unixmad 12-07-2004 02:18 PM
