I really don't like this idea, I mean it's nothing interesting. If we want information on the server we goto there website... No offence man, But this is how I see it..

news not only on servers, provided by the staff.. news on the servers, provided by the players.

News can be things like events that are happening on different playerworlds, underdawg player rumors, etc I guess

I'm the moderator for two reasons.
1) I run Graal News
2) I asked?

People already post this kind of stuff in the Classic/Playerworlds Main Forum. Another one is just plain stupid.

Why? it gives a specific place for news to be posted... Whats to say that all news is Classic/Playerworld related?

I like the idea of having a new section. Graal's official one is horrible and the playerworld based ones are full of bs propaganda from each playerworld staff and nothing more. It's good to have a news thing going on, it could have different things like a real news paper.

For example

A section for the normal big playerworld news, a section for players to tell bef what they have up for trade/sale/buying on different servers (in America I think it's called hte classified?), clothing trends for servers, fun polls, homemade reviews for random playerworlds, interviews, etc.

I like the idea.

If a server has a website or Forum, Isn't that where you post updates? Or in the npc server when you log on? How many people averagly use the graal2k1 forums daily? max 50-75?

Yeah, think about my history a little and you might realise how stupid an assertion that is.

This whole thing is going to be another colossal failure. The writers don't know how to write, and they don't have anything interesting to write about. Who the heck would bother reading it?

I think this might be a good idea...would be nice to see input about the playerworlds from the players as long as it isn't all "so and so sucks" or whatever. Hopefully, if people dislike a playerworld, they will state why in a legible manner.

Those of you who are saying it will fail, how about you wait until it has been up for awhile before you say that? Maybe you will be suprised...

Same thing goes for when you say "so and so rocks"

Look, I don't have anything against an organised, official news system, but it has to be done properly. The reason they've failed so often before is that nobody's willing to put anything into it

I personally wont read a forum that's in a semi-hidden category =x... Not like I'll volenteer for it, but I didn't even know there was a Graal News part on these forums until this thread arose o.o and I've been here since mid '01

Another part is that I've been on the Graal New's website. Nothing really impressive =x. They've had one full server review, everything else is just 'We got a new member' or 'This server looks great' and it ends on that =x.

Which brings another point. Why does there need to be a forum for Graal News when they have a fully-functional site?

Graal News has great potential... yes. But their bad taste in recruitment, opinionating things, and posting illrevelent news will ultimately destroy it if nothing is changed.

I personally would like to see Graal News succeed though. I think it's a rather cool idea. It'll be good when they get at least one per server. Then maybe have roleplaying reps from 2k2, 2k1(hopefully), and G3D or something. I also wanna see interviews and such.

Graal Forum should just issue a weekly .png newspaper or some kind of webpage where you can turn the page :)

I think it's an okay idea, but like many of the other's, I will scoff and await it's inevitable and quick fall.

I've visited the site, it was kindof intresting, I almost wanted to sign onto the server and check it out... hint almost.
