Globals and Graal
After consulting with another global friend of mine (who's name will not be mentioned for his sake), it has been realized that Graal has become a game of politics for the most part. It's no longer about your level of work, it's no longer about your skill level, it's about who you know, and how much you are liked. Last week, a major issue was brought before Stefan, in which nothing was done and the individual in question lied and nothing was done. It's sad to think that things are no longer distributed as they should be.
Last month, Loriel (aka Ben) was banned, for an action which will not be mentioned in this thread. The ban was set for a month. At the end of the month, he was unbanned, and got to keep his global job, his global admin level of 2, his many years of free goldtime, higher rights on kingdoms among other things. No punishment of any form or appropriate action was taken. If this had been done by almost anyone else, it would have resulted in a permanent banning or removal of staff position, but it did not. This is not the first such incident in which action was not taken, and that no one really cared and something was just overlooked. I do not think this should be based upon favorites of who gets specal treatment and who gets overlooked. The point of this thread is not to bash or anything, it has no mal-intent. The point is to try and gather up an opinion of others who are a part of this game. I have evidence of any claims I have made, and on many other topics, however as I have said, this thread is not mal-intended. I just want to know what you guys think, and I need to do some serious thinking. I'm having trouble finding a reason to stay and help. I do a good deal of global work, moreso than many others, but when it comes to many things, I am the first one overlooked because I'm not one who spends 99% of my time idling on debug or constantly begging for things. I find it amusing when I inquired about modding the NPC Scripting forums that I was denied because I was told it was fine as it was, and then suddenly I notice that I'm the only GST that is not? Also that one of my posts gets snipped, and turned into a thread (without my permission) with a title that undermines the point that I expressed and no one cares to do anything about my request to remove it. Someone abused their powers on the forums (will remain nameless) and made the thread under my account, and it does not allow me to delete it. So you guys tell me, is there a reason to try anymore? All comments are welcome. |
ProjectShifter...am I one the the persons you speak of in your statement??
|
That's how the things work man, unfortunately. Don't give up, stay alive.

I have respect for only two global staff left, and they both have said what I have said =/ |

Np punishment? He was banned for a month. And why would they take away his rights? From what i know he helps out a lot so why dump him and find someone less qualified.

Malinko = Got 2 free years of gold via unixmad
Jagen = Has about 28 years of free gold via (not sure, but i believe unixmad) ProjectShifter = Not even a darn free second, and he works like hell. Projectshifter is one of the hardest working globals out there. He is ALWAYS helping people out when they need him, yet he's treated like trash by Loriel, and Jagen. He doesnt get any special priviledges because he doesnt spend his time idling on debug or asking for things, instead, he's out there helping someone. Jagen is seriously an arsehole. I hate him dearly, because the fact that he is very corrupt. Loriel has gotten away with many things and i dislike him for abusing his powers also. Everything all leads up to corruption. PS is the only GST member whom isnt corrupt at all. It's amazing the crap that goes on and nothing is done. There is evidence of Jagen's corruptness and Stefan knows it but he just doesnt feel like taking actions for reasons unknown. Loriel did something horrible and was let off easily and he kept all of his global rights. It's ridiculous, really. There is no control what so ever when it comes to globals. Stefan is too busy to realise what happens when he's not around. I think that PS still even wanting to work as a GST member is something that even the globals should appreciate, because really, how far can you push someone before they break? PS has not recieved any special privilidges and he's the only GST member doing his job correctly. Of course, Lance also does his job well and he isnt corrupt at all. The way i see it, Lance and PS are the only ones who have earned their title as a GST member. Loriel and Jagen are just corrupt add-ons who seem to get away with even the slightest of things. |

I know a Global who could care less about players... *cough Jagen cough*. |

Projectshifter: Welcome to 2001, enjoy your stay for the next 4 years. |

Do you think that a GST's job does not revolve around players? Do you think it's just a group of scripters who have access to global RC and basically do nothing? I dont think so. GST HAVE to interact with players to do there job correctly. Jagen is obviously not user friendly, thus, concluding what i said. |

Also, the GST's job is NOT to necessarily interact with players as much as with staff and NPCs, but I believe the reference was more geared towards a GK position, which we are not going to get into as I know you have some comments which will not add to this conversation in the manner I was intending ;) Graal is a game, and without players, there is no game, so it is sort of the job of every staff member to interact with players at some level, no matter if it's just explaining something, or fixing a problem they have. |

Which is exactly what i meant, PS :).
Anyways, i seriously think that you do so much work yet are not known for it. Which is why i have come up with this: The more you do, the less you are recognized. Sadly, it's just how it is. I personally think that PS is one of the best on the team because he is user friendly, he works, he helps out, and he's always trying to improve things to make it better for the people. Graal is nothing without the players, and some staff just dont understand that. |

Ben is fine by me, but what you said was ehh.... |
As much as I agree what is being said here this thread will surely be removed and PS you warned for it. Why because I got 2 warnings for much less than this about the same people in question. This is not the place for this although I understand why it was done but PS you know this will only bring you grief because of it.What you are doing here amounts to not much better than their actions because it will only bring disharmony between the Global Staff and put a negative light on all Global Staff so I urge you to remove it before it backfires in your face. As you know I do not wish any ill on you and why I make this plea to you for your own good. Please think about what you have started here and Unixmads views on things like this.

You did mention a ban and who it was and how long it was and discussions of bans are against Forum rules, you know that. :frown: As well as the fact it does indeed throw a negative light of the GST no matter whether it is true or not you know how Unixmad feels about post like this about Global Staff, even if it was about you.

Everyone knew about the ban, so it's not like it really matters. |
