Alchemy
 

The new alchemy is finally finished. It is completely new, that means the old recipes and recipe books dont work anymore. All recipes are working and the produced items have in-game graphics. For being able to do a recipe you need to buy a recipe book and read it (like i said the current books will not work for this). These new updates will be uploaded end of this week.

The new alchemy was made by:
Fixing & testing recipes: Jagen
Gfx: Zero Hour, Vlad, Redwizard, and a few smaller contributions from varius people
New recipe book system: Stefan

About the recent item-disappering problems: We are currently rewriting the RPG-library, which will finally fix the item management. Until that please contact me via forum-PM or contact Jagen or Loriel on Kingdoms. But please be patient and respect it if the items cannot be restored since we can only do it if it can be proven that the items were on the account.

Woah, nice. I guess this will make most of the rare items common now. It's about time the new alchemy is released :).

Will we need recipies even for basic items like Ruby Water or Dust of Piercing Vision?

@ googi, quite possibly yes. if it is completely new, that is. maybe the water recipes may stay the same, if not, there will probably only be minor changes made

yes it should go as planned this time. Its being exhausted to bits over on debug, tested beyond limits. if anything comes up we'll let you know before then

The books for basic recipes appear more often in the shops, but you still need to buy and read them. The chance for recipe books appearing in shops has been increased. The only thing we might need to change now is to give the recipe books/scrolls new images so people cannot "scam" by selling the old books and saying they are new.

If they wont work then why not delete the old recipe books altogether?

I marvel at the site of the wondrous new Full Helmet of Might GFX that I saw my character wearing when I got excited, seeing that all alchemy items now have GFX, and logged on to observe this revelation for myself

I haven't seen a single alchemy book yet.

Stefan said that he would release it by the end of this week, so he either hasnt uploaded it yet, or he hasnt uploaded all of it yet.

Yeah. Here is my prediction:

Those with most plat will bend the shops over a table backwards and give them a good rogering for a few days straight, get all the best recipes, and start churning out items and/or the recipes for USD.
Those without plat or USD will be left completely screwed over, as usual. ***** XD


Anyway, nice work guys, pity i won't ever get to see alchemy because of my account running out before i'll ever manage to find a recipe. Yipee.

Nice. I'll have to visit sometime and try it out. I wonder if my sapphires and rubies will still be worth something...

I still remember stefan popping on breifly while he was on holiday before summer, and we asked him when, and he was like "yes it should be out on friday after i get back". XD

I still dont understand why they dont just wipe the old recipe's out the market if they wont work anymore.

Ok the new gfx for the recipe books and scrolls are finished. The plan is to upload the new files (gfx, object definitions, recipe list, artifact list, scripts) on Friday, and then start the new alchemy on Saturday.

Oh, that should be great. Since im on VIP i can only get on the weekends....for now atleast :).

Oh well, looks like i won't see alchemy until some time next month, which is probably the least amount of time it will take me to get re-upgraded yo.

lets see how well things are going to be carried out. it is now friday. we have seen new book images.......so how far will that take us. should be about...umm 6am in paris or so? yes? i dont know not good with time zones...
