Auta backup
 

This is a prefect idea for hacker protection. In every rc there is an area where you can select a folder and back everything up. Then also after someone gets hacked there is a button to automatically reupload everything to the right area. Is this genius or what? ^^

Stefan already have a kind of backup. Its danger let normal people have access a something like that, or you can lose the actual files or something. So you can make your own backup, copying the files to other folder or something =P

that takes forever, and why is it a danger? u cant lose the files by backing them up!!!

Because backing up files serverside is resource intensive, and should be limited.

NO not serverside, i mean it automatically saves it in special format on your harddrive, and then knows how to retrieve it and set it back up in the right folders once you choose to.

If you want it to save it in a special format, it has to compress the files
which is still, server intensive...

I mean in a way just so it knows where to put all the files when u reupload it after u are hacked or something not like a new formatting way.

This is called lazyness.

w0rd, back up your own crap. Have the manager assign things like

LAT Admin- Responsible for backing up the Levels
NAT Admin- Responsible for backing up the npcs
Admin- Responsible for backing up serveroptions

you get the point.

Maybe a button where you press it and it downloads files through the file manager, and then clientsidedly compresses them. And then it makes things very dangerous because a hacker can buy an empty server for $59 and 'backup' that, then he just uploads that backup, devastating server options and whatever else is overwritable :)

Yes but you can then see who did that and reback it up since you would be able to. besides a hacker could just as easily about just delete all the folders and without that backup option, even if you did have everything backed up, it could take days to get it all working right.
