Unixmad, about off topic messages
First, if you havent read Unixmad's post, check the moderators/administrators post area at the top of every forum
Anyway, Unixmad, sure theres off topic messages, there always will be. But deleting them/banning the player is not the solution. I mean no offense to your message, but that isnt the way to go. General forums for anything, be it games or software developement etc, will always have off topic messages.. Thats why we make them. Take a look in the NewWorld and NPC Scripting forums, etc. You dont see much, if at all, off topic messages. Thats because we have them all in one forum; General. So, there isnt any point really to your post about banning ppl etc for off topic messages. Say you have a new site, and you want to get some traffic there, post it in the graal general forum. Would that be so wrong?? Plus, people cant always talk on Graal, or over the forum PMs. So they turn to the forums. Then theres times when they want a general idea from people, so they make a new topic. Plus, if the graal forums were only about graal, we would rarely get any sort of enjoyment. Half the players are considering quitting, so surfing the forums, answering newbie questions isnt they're idea of fun. Sometimes we need a good laugh, so someone makes a pointless thread that you see everyone reply to. When u see that, turn around and look at all of the graal related threads. They rarely have over 30 posts in them unless theyre made by Stefan himself. All this in a nutshell: You are going too far with that rule and should reconsider I may get banned for posting this "Off topic" thread, so this may be the last time u hear from me for a while. |
Unixmad doesnt even read the boards

make a forum that talks about none-graal stuff
so everyone will be happy |
He contradict himself in any ways, not only rules.

Though it would basically become a new General forum |
Unixmad isn't realizing something here.
This is a business now. Not a free game. If this was a free message board, this would be perfectly acceptable. However, this is a business, and message boards on which the user pays to access them, this is unacceptable. Banning people for going offtopic is a terrible business practice. Expect him to lose a large amount of profits within the next set of renewals if he goes through with this. Apparently, he doesn't realize it, but in this situation, the customer is always right. |

argh, that is so stupid. let it be offtopic, what the hell is the big deal? just when i thought these boards couldn't get any worse, this stupid rule comes into play.
|
This is quite possibly the most rediculous rule on a message board ever.
|
guys, chill.
Making threads about it will just anger him. PM him nicely about it. |

He'll be like "Hey guy, offtopc sucks and you'll be banned" |

no because someone in authority, always, wants to feel like the greater power and you cant do that by going back on what you said in summary admins and/or parents are stubborn |

Relax, guys. The point is people were posting irresponsibly and filling us with lots of things we didn't need.
This doesn't mean everything that doesn't have to do with Graal Online will be deleted. It just means, when you start a thread, think responsibly as to why you think other people should read it. |

Well, not necessarily non spam topics. Here's an example.
I happen to be infatuated with the daughter of a friend of mine. Even though I'd like to post a thread about it because I'm so stricken, I don't because I know my personal life isn't important to you all. Even though that wouldn't be a spam topic, it would still be off topic and an irresponsible thing to post. You see? |
I kinda get the idea, will be still be able to post things about games and such?
|
Yes, I think. You know, as people who play the game Graal we are interested in other games of high quality or similar characteristics.
