Zenkou is looking for 1 Level Maker

We are looking for just 1. Obviously your going to have to adopt our tileset. it is availible for download here . More details and screenshots are availible at our website, zenkou.graal.net .

I usually make a map for LAT assignments. LATs are free to add their own flair to the assignment, and deviate where they feel its necessary. I try to keep working here as fun as possible.

IE: current lat assignments:

I actually like the way you do LAT tests. That is a very good idea O_o.

Curt1zzle 07-26-2004 08:03 PM

Lot's of work for that LAT test, jeesh, but I suppose it prooves dedication =P

Good luck with it.

haro41 07-26-2004 08:30 PM

oh no no no. those are examples of lat assignments. your test is on the zenkou site. DONT DO THOSE LEVELS! Our current lats are already working on those!

Malinko 07-26-2004 08:32 PM

Oh, I thought that was a LAT test. I was about to say, that style is pretty decent. Make a map and let them work it out and detail, that seems like a good idea.

Oshizzlewizzle, i might give this a go if i find time/inspiration. Is there a deadline?

haro41 07-26-2004 09:18 PM

yes there is. the deadline is how much time you need to make them look their best! =D

Monkeyboy_McGee 07-26-2004 09:40 PM

Lololol ok cool, i'll hand in my application sometime in 2005, k? ;)

Sadness

I was interested in applying, for the heck of it, to see if my skills were adequate.
That was until I saw this:

The left part is a section of your tileset. A section in which, probably unbeknowingly, whoever made the tileset turned a great, useful tile into a common cliff end piece. This was not needed, as the correct piece for what you intended already exists in another part of the tileset.
On the right is what can be done with the selected tile when using a normal tileset.

Anyways, this isn't an attack or anything, I like your tileset alot, but hardly ever are tileset makers LATs, and thus minor discrepencies like this occur.
If you ever want super sexy cliffs, I suggest fixing the tile.

Good luck with your applications, from what I've seen, Zenkou looks to be a nice, original playerworld.

Post a screenshot on how that tile looks with the mountain to show the actual error.

That's how it looks with the Zenkou tileset.
Compare that to the pic above.

haro41 07-27-2004 04:40 AM

thanks for that little piece of info. fixed.
and i suggest you get used to using haropalmtree.png in your levels.

we rarely use the tileset tree, seeing how Zenkou is a Tropical themed server.

Silver Knight 07-27-2004 08:05 AM

I know, I just slapped the Zenkou tileset on a level I had made to see how it would look.
That's when I discovered the tile thing.
Graal2001 keeps me plenty busy, so I don't know if I'll be applying, but, like I said, good luck with it, I've liked what I've seen of Zenkou so far.
