Client Lagg?

I have a 1mbit connection, and no programs open on my PC.

When i m playing Graal, its fast and fine for about 5 / 10 minutes, then the lagg hits and i have to re-open the game.
When i reopen the lagg is gone. SO it isnt the ammount of people near me - because they are still there.

My ping can be as little as 20 when this happens.
I have plent of system resources, my CPU is no where near 100% and theres spare RAM.

So what is causing this? :(

Btw Client 3 seems to work fine, and i would use it but its inpracticle.
Textures missing, look weird, and chests unopen etc. Its too BETA to use permanetly.

Memory inefficiencies in Graal2 are the cause of this. Basically, you probably don't have that much RAM installed on your computer. I'd guess 128mb or so.

Try 1gig, yeah 1024mb :(

*sigh* Graal shows your "ping" absolutely nowhere.

As for your problem, is your mp3 volume all the way down in the Graal options? If so, move the slider up just a tiny bit so that it's at the lowest possible volume other than off. Having it off causes my client to lag quite a bit for some odd reason, although it doesn't start 5 to 10 seconds after I open it... it's instant.

Maybe he is talking about frames per second (thats what alt-4 does right?)

Nope. It's the number of bytes being received from the server. Well, I'm PRETTY sure about that anyway.

jahngod 07-14-2004 01:33 AM

Thats all good, but how can i solve my problem :(

TESTRETIS 07-14-2004 01:44 AM

The more weapons you have, the more lag you wil get, no matter what your connection type is.

jahngod 07-14-2004 02:22 AM

For a moment i thought you might have solved the problem.
But i logged on as a trial account and it was still the same :/

I didn't see you say anything in response to that, so I'm assuming you didn't try it.

jahngod 07-14-2004 12:33 PM

Sorry yeah, tried so much forgot to reply about that.

I didnt affect me in any way.

Thallen 07-14-2004 02:35 PM

Same exact problem I get.

jahngod 07-14-2004 02:38 PM

Thank goodness for that, i thought it was just me!

Ive tried graphics settings, router settings, game settings, Windows XP settings.

Im kinda lost, spark or stef plz help :S

Im installing Linux atm, so i hope theyve released that Linux RC i saw earlier, lol :/

Spark910 07-14-2004 06:52 PM

Stange problem, never heard of it before.
And Linux RC isn't public yet, however it should be soon I think, as it is in a useable and secure stage

I have a problem where i'm playing graal for a little while (with RC, game, other junk open) and my computer will completely lock up (including mouse) for a few seconds, then return to normal.
I've also had the problem where if I have Graal open for a long time my graphics driver will crash (output to screen cut off) and I have to reboot.
It ONLY happens when I play Graal (usually when i'm working -____- )

Specs:
Pentium 4 1.8GHz
512MB RAM
GFX Card: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (Omega 1.5303)
Res: 1152x864x32

jahngod 07-15-2004 11:40 PM

ok i reformatted Windows, still have the same problem.
So im thinking it may be nvidia drivers maybe?
