Golden Ring

I just made this. It's a golden ring =]
((... lmao.. take a few steps back from the screen and it will look good =P))

VeX_RaT_Boy 07-12-2004 03:00 AM

Did you pixel that? :O

xxCloudxx 07-12-2004 03:01 AM

In a not ms paint program..! It's good, like everything else you make.

VeX_RaT_Boy 07-12-2004 03:09 AM

When I say Pixel, I mean not 3D Rendered in some program like 3DMax, Bryce or AutoDesk Inventor...

But it's nice.

teshy2 07-12-2004 03:11 AM

Galdor doesn't use 3D software for his pics (insider information) ;D

xxCloudxx 07-12-2004 03:12 AM

Well it doesn't exactly look "3D" so why did u ask if he pixeled it? It's not really hard to see ;O

Monkeyboy_McGee 07-12-2004 03:53 AM

That is amazing, galdor. You really are a whizz with that painter program. Do you paint irl with like real paint and stuff? If so you should try and scan in / take photos of some of your work, i'd love to see it!

Lol i took steps back and it looks worse than up close, i like it when it's up close; it looks as if it's got water on it, and so its a bit distorted, but glistening, and stuff. :D

Nitkizi 07-12-2004 03:55 AM

I like the sparkles in it...MY PRECIOUS..

Oh no! It's some sort of evil ring that's turned him mad! Quickly guys, throw it into that conveniently placed active volcano before we get invaded by short guys with hairy feet and shiny eyes!

Mykel 07-12-2004 05:03 AM

Dude...
I'm not ***...
But if I was...I would want you to have my babies.

(Don't take that the wrong way. :D)

Galdor 07-12-2004 05:08 AM

http://galdor.vip.graal.net/GFX/galdor-ring2.PNG mini ring =P

Mykel 07-12-2004 05:13 AM

Don't get me wrong, that is a million-bizzzzillion times better then anything I could make, but I found something I didn't like.

On the upper lip of the ring, just below the chain...it looks weird and doesn't match.

Galdor 07-12-2004 05:14 AM

mmk.. i'll fix that later

Making a new ring =]
i will add some cool text on the ring later when im done with the coloring.

Zero Hour 07-12-2004 08:09 PM

Funky .

Mykel 07-12-2004 08:13 PM

I like the old one better. But still a good job...

Galdor 07-12-2004 08:36 PM

i hope you will like it better when im done.

Silver Knight 07-12-2004 09:56 PM

The Galdor strikes again with yet another fine piece of art.
The first one is amazing, the coloring on it is great, I really like the use of light and shadow on the various parts.

As for the second one, hurry up and finish!

Galdor 07-13-2004 02:24 AM

http://galdor.vip.graal.net/GFX/newring2.PNG
i dont like the style of the coloring so much =/
i hope the final version will be good.

Mykel 07-13-2004 02:46 AM

Preeeeetty. :) *touches*

Monkeyboy_McGee 07-13-2004 06:29 AM

It is amazing, even in its unfinished stage. The front has that feel of rough bronze/brass to it...or something like that, gah, i can't explain.

You mean a smith-like hammered out texture? :)

Nitkizi 07-13-2004 07:58 AM

That blacksmith must've used a REALLY tiny hammer to hammer that ring into shape o.o

Nah most likely, when a ring is made what they do is take a peice of thick wire and wrap it around a coil. Then they hammer the wire flat on the coil so its round and flat and they probably smooth out the edges with a fial like tool. Then they weld the two ends of the ring togeather.

o.O was donald a ringsmith in a previous life?

teshy2 07-13-2004 10:14 PM

They do? I thought they used molds and poured the heated metal into it.. sort of like with those military figures. Fascinating still.

Nitkizi 07-14-2004 02:03 AM

Yeah, I thought they used molds too.

osrs 07-14-2004 02:22 AM

Amazing! Very leet.

made another ring :whatever: (drawn with free-hand. so it looks kinda deformed >_< )

Zero Hour 09-22-2004 10:55 PM

Nice, Galdor.

Skyerus 09-23-2004 12:48 AM

I like how you did the reflection. ;)

Curt1zzle 09-23-2004 04:59 AM

Very very nice , Galdor. The reflection really adds to the quality, as Sky said.

alarid0 09-23-2004 05:05 AM

My brother used a mold when he made his ring....

er...

anyway...

Why does it matter what you like about it? Quit trying to tell the man his art is wrong, it his, not yours.

Who cares? Obviously someone desperately looking for something to post about.

Galdor 09-23-2004 01:30 PM

wtfh?! i had made a ring and i didnt want to make a new thread so i used my old "golden ring" thread (found it in page 5.. so it wasnt that old =P)

Dach 09-23-2004 03:37 PM

Kinda looks like it has a lip..
That's awesome though, if you glance at it or see it from a slight distance it looks like a real picture.

yeah, there is this nice little feature that VB has, if you look at the upper left of a post, you can see the date which it was posted

You're quite quick to alienate people.
The thread, if you compare the post dates, was revived by Galdor himself to post his newest ring.

It's nice, Galdor. I like the way the grain of the wood overlaps the reflection, but you have yet to see my skills... (;
