g2k1 could be reborn

well im just a idiot but when g2k1 went bye bye and if your thinking of making a come back i think the inactive staff shouldent come back (not pointing fingers). Also if it was to come back you need more stuff to trade besides hats like be able to trade npc weapons insted of hats also insted of buying houses from players make them so you can get them from npcs and you get a deed. With that you could trade the ownership of the house also i wouldent bring back bomys while i was there they were to much trouble and i think they played a key part in g2k1 downfall. People got in fights over masses. Also i would make the unstick me a NO pk this time also i would do nations but i wouldent open g2k1 till there finished that also played a part in its downfall. From what i have heard but what you need are more npc's and well more things to do like events etc. A couple of new levels and a quest or two wouldent hurt also i dont know about this rping people speak of becuse they can go to val for that becuse if you were attacked in a rp that kinda jacks it up. Well also you could make it to where people cant steal your rocks when you tnt them that was also a big deal becuse if angle wasnt there with her musket you had to share your rocks or fight off like three or four pkers to get some minerals. Also there should be potions or spells and fill some of the empty levels well thats about it really thats what i think alot of people would like to see if g2k1 ever came back. ALSO you dont need all the old staff you only need the key people lat/gat/nat/faq/gp can be replaced but you need the adimns well thats it now call me a idiot or whatever you want to becuse hey i am one.ALSO while im on a rant you could add npc monsters well just a idea. and shadow there i used the little . and the big letters :D

Holy hell, im not even going to bother trying to read that. Come back after you've figured out what the little dots and things on your keyboard are for.

LordMatt 07-09-2004 10:51 AM

Bomies the downfall of G2k1? I don't think so. The downfall was the blasted hats and market I tell you! Things got bad after that cursed market. People would monopoly hats, sending prices sky rocketing. It was nuts. Bomies were around long before the downfall of Graal2001, so it couldn't possibly be them.

haunter 07-09-2004 10:54 AM

I'm STILL not going to read that. It's preposterous. Try again after finishing the lesson on paragraphing and indentation.

Every time you guys make a thread like this, God kills a kitten, or something.

God makes an exception and kills a boat load of kittens when this guy makes a thread.

Anyway after a good time of trying to read what you wrote I think (stress on the think) that you are trying to describe Graal 2001 as a classic server. If I am right, please go play in traffic.

brock128 07-09-2004 04:39 PM

The downfall of 2k1 was when people got lazy and Stefan left.

God I remember that day! I was like " I HAVE 1,000 GRALATS ON 2K1!", And the guy beside me at 1,000 gralats too..and the guy beside him..
And it turns out, it was only the three of us on the server. I was severely disapointed.

Monkeyboy_McGee 07-09-2004 05:19 PM

Half the downfall of 2k1 was the corrupt and layzee admins. o_O

MaverickOriginal 07-09-2004 05:19 PM

I really will not comment on that post, for there is nothing you would not want to hear what i would have to say about it...Please re-read your post?

It was one of those if it's not broke then don't fix it things, but then it started breaking and before they could fix it it was dead.

Myomoto 07-09-2004 05:39 PM

Good lord, just leave that damn server alone! ._:

Plz, servers don't die OVARNITE OMGZ0RS! If there's a problem and people don't like the way its going, they complain for ages before they actually leave if nothing's done about it. Take GK as an example of that - people are still complaining they haven't left yet, but on GK there are staff trying to fix things ambitiously. The admins of 2k1 just sat around in KT tags abusing power.

(screenshot was taken around a year ago i think, before i discovered the power of alt+2 XD
I think it was when 2k1 got brought back up for a while, or something, and everyone was on there checking it out, but it didnt last long :( )

You're crazy. That wasn't the start.

I remember when hats first came out. I had to borrow 5 gralats from Gonmon to buy a hat, and holy hell was that alot of money.

i found monopolizing the shogun hats quite entertaining

zim5354 07-09-2004 07:57 PM

I see i didnt get all the topics and some of those were my put on the topic. But the reason i said bomys were in the downfall was becuse. In the masses people would start yelling and stuff then it would go on for like a hour then it would stop then it would go agin tommorow ot a bomy would say something and etc. Also the hats now that i think of it did play a part in the downfall. But you see when someone makes a post or thread like this people put in there two cents and then you get everyones reason for g2k1 going down. Also when g2k1 was rerealesded it seemed like it did die overnight it had 120 peeps one day then it went to 60 overnight then after that it was at 20 and it just stayed there till it was taken off of classic

Brad 07-09-2004 08:06 PM

Bloody chirst dude. If you want us to read you opinion and even take any of it into consideration while we're working on 2k1 learn to use puncuation, the enter key, and the tab key.

Maybe it's just me, but this burns to read.
kthxbye

Well...I spent 10 minutes fixing your paragraph and I get this error I always do, "Invalid Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the webmaster". What I have to say is that the reason why the number decreased from Day to Night is because people had to sleep right. Also I believe it was released at the end of summer, so naturally people had to go back to school. They weren't hooked enough to keep playing while school was going on because they never had the chance.

zim5354 07-10-2004 12:28 AM

I dont think so U.N has about the same ammount of people year round. So does Del but they get a pouplation boost when a server is down though. But Shadow did you say the staff and you were working on bringing g2k1 back?

haunter 07-10-2004 12:38 AM

Yes, I'm working right now. We've been saying this for some time now, there are a crap load of threads about it in this very section of the forums.

hats were free when they first came out...

your most likely talking about when you had to start buying them (and the downfall of the "give hat" item NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!) and yea your right, I remember when they made a little NPC give you 30g for the holidays and everyone was so happy, that was before bread baking and crap so new people could actually afford to buy something to make money with.

hell yea, remember when some guy but a bomy for sale on eBay and he bid $3000 and then was like "I thought it was gralats." He was the only one with over 10k for atleast 3 months. eep

protagonist 07-10-2004 01:57 AM

It would have helped if there was a monthly money reset, so that people actually bought stuff rather than stock it all.

I am SO sick of this misconception. Valikorlia is not the Alpha and Omega of RPing. It's actually quite contrived, limited, unimaginitive, and stale. RPing has been a part of 2k1 for a long, long time. It's our server just as much, if not more, than the PKers. How many PKers contributed productivly (Levels, Graphics, NPCs, even did Police or FAQ jobs) to 2K1? How many RPers? Think about it. If you don't like RPing, then stay away from the Kingdoms. Most RPers dont mind sharing a server for GOOD roleplaying like 2k1 used to have, but if anyone tries to maliciously interfere in said RP zones...well, let's just see how much *fun* I can have with them :D

Quote:

Also there should be potions or spells
And mabey we should also have a hunger bar, and dwarven warhammers, and havoks, and gods.

2k1 does not equal 2k2. I advocate magic, but a very...2k1ish magic.

teshy2 07-10-2004 03:16 AM

I have never played on 2k1, but I'd very much like to do so if it ever gets back. It sounds fun from what I can tell.

Not to take anything away from your arguement, but most of the Police and FAq were neither PKers or RPers, like me, people who needed something to do other then RP or PK.

galen 07-10-2004 04:05 AM

My 2 cents....

Graal2001's downfall began Day #1. It was never managed well.

Still, the numbers of anykind of productivity, you'll see that there weren't many Pkers and at least a fair number more of Rpers.

I remember when hats first came out, but I was talking when they started selling. I remember corpse and a few kept running around putting the flower basket hat on everyone and we had to keep running back to harmonia and getting our hats. Man, They changed my hat like 20 times in like one day.
