Opinions wanted: [Q] Should all hosted playerworld be on the hosted tab?

Your opinions are wanted! I was sitting here one early morning/night (accurately morning, but meh) anyway myself and VT were talking over some playerworld that applied for the hosted tab which was ½/½ and I was thinking:
*Hosted tab isn’t really as popular as I thought it would have been
*The inspections are quite time consuming so often
*A few people wanted every hosted playerworld public before

So: Question: Would you like to see all hosted playerworlds in the hosted tab?

Note:
*Those that request could remain private
*This may get no where, but if it is supported I could suggest it

I guess if you had the option yes. I don't really see a harm in it. You didn't mention any downsides.

Yeah, I couldn't think of any really... they are all basically accessible anyway so people could still find any illegal things if it was on the tab or not, but I guess all being on the tab would mean that people may see bad content more... however it would allow for it to be fixed quicker when reported I guess... if anyone else can think of any down sides be sure to reply with them >_<

But inactive servers shouldnt be let on

I don't see the harm, it would be easier than having to go through rc to find out the server name then type it in..And of course, a pw could ask to stay off the hosted listed if they wanted to.

Public = Open to classic users as well?

I'd like to see all of the playerworlds there currently that virtually have no replay value due to lack of content removed and servers in the "Classic" tab that are poor content wise (unoriginal and such) moved to hosted.

I think playerworlds that keep a decent playercount per-day or per-week should be on hosted tab.

But at the same time i think ALL private playerworlds should become hosted. This will let players view upcoming playerworlds. But some private playerworlds have ghostmodeenabled=false which means only Gold VIP subscribers may view so theres no point for moving all private playerworlds onto the Hosted Tab.

couldnt you just make a new tab for Private PWs

The hosted tab I thought was for some sort of recognition for the progress some PWs have made.

The hosted tab is to my knowledge designed to show off those hosted servers which serve as good examples of Graalians at work developing their own worlds.

Putting all of those servers on that list is basically defeating that purpose...?

Well... Little people go on it, most of the playercount is just the staff them selves... so it's not really being used. :x

Yes, so people can log on to any servers, so some good UC servers might get a high population count which then turns to Server list :)

I voted yes because people are right...all you still ever see on the hosted tab PWs are staff most of the time. All worlds should be listed unless the wish to stay private. It would make it a lot easier to access them to then having to type them in all the time.

Yes, and there are also problems sometimes when playerworlds have similer names. Sometimes people cannot access their server because they keep getting sent to another server because it has a similer name. I remember my friend prozac had to change his servers name from realms to argos because there was another server called graal realms or something like that. This will fix that.

That's what I was thinking, too. Alot of people don't know how to use RC to find it.

I say no. You have to earn Hosted tab, as well as Classic.

Hosted (2): VIP/Gold on weekends for non-staff, since their PW isn't finished and not meant for public release?

I am up for it.. But it is still going to be the same as now.. Mostly staff online because you have to have gold/vip account to connect to them.(Well play them)

Sounds fair enough to me. It puts all playerworlds on an equal footing, and lets players see all the future servers which may emerge. Besides, the Classic tab is enough of a goal for servers to strive towards.

The concept of private playerworlds should not be phased out altogether, though. Perhaps this should become an option in the Playerworld ADCP. Admin accounts could switch the server in and out of being on the Hosted tab once a day, with the Playerworld Admin able to do so whenever or revoke a server's ability to do this.

We didn't earn the hosted tab? We earned being online. That is why I don't like the name of...'Hosted Tab'

The whole idea of earning a server is now gone and thrown out the window. Before it was like "WOW HE GOT A SERVER TO PRIVATE HE MUST BE LEET"

Now it's a matter of "WOWOWO HE MAD IT 2 HOSTIN BUT IT SUCKZ MAN!!"

I think that you should add another tab, Under Construction, and put all the playerworlds that aren't on any list now there. (Privacy is allowed, as you said.)

I think there should be just 2 tabs.

The gold tab of course and then the "other" tab.

The "other" would consist of the current top 10 (or whatever) in player count player worlds. Is that possible with some kind of script?

Dude...THINK. I never said they can't have a playerworld, I just said if their content is crap they shouldn't represent Graal publicly such as in the hosted tab.

Anyway, I agree with Lance.

Ok then perhaps we should add a 4th tab, this way we dont have that god damn name error.

I voted no for the reason if you look at some of them it is a total waste to log on there, so why make it easier for them to do nothing to get to hosted? I think they need to earn the spot to some degree. And not all want to be viewed anyway. Development servers are severs who are under development for another server and I'm sure they do not want people on it till they are ready for public view on the server it it being developed for.
