Tileset Errors (Updated! December 9th, 2005)
I've noticed a couple small errors in the tileset, and I've taken the liberty to fix them... Here are two of the very small ones...
I also fixed some of the tree parts... Mainly the bits on the cliff backround... If you notice any other problems with the tileset, perhaps something I've missed, let me know and I'll fix it, or you can give it a whirl if you like... But here's the edited version I've done. Hopefully these fixes will make their way into the default tileset of the next graal update. Update! December 9th, 2005:The old fixes are back on the tileset. (Thanks for pointing that out, Clash) Update! August 9th, 2005 I've updated the tileset again after finding another error... While fixing it I also noticed a problem I caused with the older version I'd posted here... I messed up the transparency or something, anyway, it's fixed (I hope). Aside from the transparancy error I caused here's what's fixed: If you'll direct your attention to the tiles highlighted with a red box you'll see that they don't line up with the bottom of the cliff correctly like the green grass version does. Instead of taking the green grass version, and recolouring it for the dead-grass version, the shape of those few tiles was altered. A simple fix: copy, paste, bucket fill... but it helps quite a bit. Tada. Update! December 9th, 2005 The black rectangle on these weird cliff things is now gone: http://img426.imageshack.us/img426/9...s1error5kg.png Thanks to jake13jake for pointing that out. There should not be any transparency issues with this tileset. The pics1 that comes with the Graal setup causes a specific shade of gray (the shading in the grave stones) to become transparent, thus changing it to black. (Atleast it did this for me on V4:mac, and is now fixed for me.) If you notice any more problems, please post them here. I will try to get Stefan to include this in the next Graal update. |
Thankyou, Jordan. <3

Thanks. I kind of noticed something was going on there.

Someone should edit the tileset to fix these silly errors. And fix the darn grass so they dont have to be connected?

uhm, no offence but nobody seems to notice a small tiny fact here - the errors you have pointed out are not fixed on the tileset you posted :3

You missed one.

I've made some more changes. (See original post) Thank you Clash and Jake for pointing those things out.
The first edit did have those snow errors fixed, but when I did the cave errors, my tileset had reverted back to the original pics1.png with those snow errors, and I hadn't noticed. I've re-fixed them. |
You know, if you could somehow manipulate the house brick tiles so that you can use them without necessarily having a tile error, it would be good. Also, the Door-Top Brick tiles (for houses with second floors) are a little bit elevated from the rest of the bricks; I don't know if you've already caught this or not.
Also, maybe you could convince stefan to upgrade the drawbridge tiles that nobody uses... (Those tiles that look like sticks on water and yellow candles.) |

we should get stefan to package a default winter tileset, and then we can edit it like this.

Found another possible error, save it's been there since Zelda Online.
These two tiles are exactly the same, I think the one on the right is supposed to have brown in the top-left corner to smooth out cliffs. I don't know off the top of my head where the one like this that goes the other direction is. |

I know a lot of double tiles :o. |

Unless you'd care to volunteer to go around and fix all of the tile errors it creates in people's levels! :) |

Now see, it wouldn't really make any tile errors to fix this, in fact, it would make them look less like errors. |

It would be nice if it was possible to load more than one tileset in a level.
It would be possible with a level layers sytem. |

So, haunter, could you please try to fix that error I pointed out?:> Its pissing me off.
|
Is anybody else going to fix the near impossibility of making smoothly bricked buildings, or should I?

Use one tile for one thing, and it's similar brother for another. As for those other things that have been pointed out. I may look into them if I get time. |

Second of all. It wasn't the desert cave tiles that were broken. In fact, it was the grass cave and just plain old cave tiles that were broken. However, it would be more appropriate to convert the desert ones so I back you there. Let's make a flashback game of this (the original ZO levels). However, there have been a lot of cliff tiles that were never fit to blend in, they deal with all going behind a cliff, while all the front of cliff tiles are set. Therefore, there is yet a way to make a perfect cliff in the history of Graal since Stefan got sued by Nintendo. Would be nice if you fixed the cliff tiles is what I'm trying to say. |

Oh darn, I thought I had utterly destroyed the thread for a minute, but there's still more screenies to post.
Also, I could help too, y'know. |
Holy **** that was confusing... I think I understand now, it's hard for me to grasp this stuff now since Stefan won't port the level editor to Mac OS X... I'm a bit rusty. I won't be changing it here though... Too much of a potential problem with little brown spots showing up at the base of grass cliffs... It wouldn't look right if you ask me. But by all means, change it for your server if you like... Personally though, if I were making a server using the Pics1 I would re-arrange it to fit into the tiletype 1.

Of course, I made a few edits because I hate some colors on the GraalOnline pics1.png tiles. Not the best, but sort of lazy to keep editting. |

Ouh...err... nice?:o Edit:Ah...you forgot to put the jump tiles from the cliffs in this little jump tile section ;D. |

I could do it if people wanted, but that was just to show a basic example of how to do so I guess. It's not hard. |
