Advanced/Elite Professions

I've been playing Graal on and off for the past four years now, and I must say that when G2K2 (Kingdoms) was released it made a vast improvement on the gaming experience. The only major thing I can see that would make it better is the addition of advanced/elite professions.

The idea is that once the player joins a basic profession (warrior, barbarian, thief, priest, alchemist, or sorcerer) and reach lvl 10 they will have the chance to seak out a trainer or guildhall for one of two profession branches. They would talk to a trainer/recruiter and would complete a quest for them. Upon completing the quest the player will then gain the rights of that profession (once a profession is taken up, the player shouldn't be able to change it.) At lvl 50 the player has a chance to take up another profession, then again at lvl 100.

Each basic profession would have a total of 6 branching professions (2 at lvl 10, 2 at lvl 50, and 2 at lvl 100) and the player would be able to mix and match these professions for a truely unique character.

As with the current professions the advanced/elite professions would have special skills and weapons/items available for their use.

Below are my ideas for how the professions could be branched:

Basic Profession: Warrior
Lvl 10 Profession: Swordsman, Squire
Lvl 50 Profession: Fencer, Knight
Lvl 100 Profession: Blademaster, Crusador

Basic Profession: Barbarian
Lvl 10 Profession: Fighter, Competitor
Lvl 50 Profession: Brawler, Combatant
Lvl 100 Profession: Mercenary, Gladiator

Basic Profession: Thief
Lvl 10 Profession: Street Fighter, Explorer
Lvl 50 Profession: Murderer, Scout
Lvl 100 Profession: Assasin, Ranger

Basic Profession: Priest
Lvl 10 Profession: Cleric, Follower
Lvl 50 Profession: Monk, Acolyte
Lvl 100 Profession: Bishop, Minister

Basic Profession: Alchemist
Lvl 10 Profession: Watcher, Symbolizer
Lvl 50 Profession: Scientist, Translator
Lvl 100 Profession: Astrologist, Mystifier

Basic Profession: Sorcerer
Lvl 10 Profession: Mage, Enchanter
Lvl 50 Profession: Seer, Witch
Lvl 100 Profession: Wizard, Necromancer

Here is a quick explanation of what each advanced/elite profession could have access to and/or do:

Swordsman:
The Swordsman profession will have access to a branch of two-handed swords. They will also have a damage plus when using swords.

Squire:
The Squire will have an enhanced speed and weight limit. They will also have a small damage plus when using missile weapons.

The Fencer will have access to a branch of one-handed swords. They will have also have a damage plus when using the swords and a skill to freeze players for a few seconds (only in battle or spar mode).

The Enchanter has the skill to fly on staffs and brooms. Multiple staffs and brooms will become availble for their use.

The Seer has the skill to watch in on other players (who are outside) from anywhere on the map if they have a crystal ball. Multiple crystal balls (some that allow viewing from the main island to kingdom islans) become available to the Seer.

I have nothing to say. It's all been said. Great ideas.

zs0 06-24-2004 04:34 AM

Good ideas you got there. Too bad noone cares enough about GK to do anything..

MasterNuke 06-24-2004 05:31 AM

Would require a full revamp and reset... but decent ideas... just nothing I haven't seen

nakirush_9099 06-24-2004 04:30 PM

Why reset?

I don't think it would require a reset, just give people who are already above the mentioned levels the quest right away. And if they're already over lvl 100 let them do all three quests right away.

Kind of a rip off of r@gn@r0k don't you think? Not only does graal kingdom have LORDS (mini monsters / mvps from r@gn@r0k anyone?) but after this it will obviously be a r@gn@r0k jr. :/

Kind of too long, unoriginal and doesn't quite distinguish classes to a great benefecial extent.

I'd prefer to simply see this:

Barbarians - Only ones that can use woodlore.
Warriors - Only ones that can use smithing.
Alchemists - Only ones that can use alchemy.
Priests - Only ones that can bless weapons.
Sorcerors - Dunno yet ;p Just woke up, will think of later? ;p

MasterNuke 06-24-2004 05:31 PM

Sorcerors - Given back their old spell damage and instant cast so they don't suck anymore =/

nakirush_9099 06-24-2004 05:38 PM

Ragnarok..

Not really ripping off anything, Ragnarok uses a classic RPG system. Nothing to original there.

I'm sure something will come along...though I dont think THOSE are the best Elite Classes....Necromancers aren't a natural evolution, they're a whole nother school

GoZelda 06-24-2004 09:38 PM

The idea is nice, though old-school, but I doubt it'll work, especially not without total REVOLUTION from the PP's.

Like I said, those were only my ideas for professions. I'm not too involved in fantasy type stuff so I don't know that much about the magic classes.

csod123 06-25-2004 02:11 AM

y we vote on it, have a full vote throughut kingdoms, no one is using the voteing house now any ways, ****s should get a chance to.

nakirush_9099 06-25-2004 02:45 PM
