Official Vlad Events Topic
 

I had an idea. Why not create a topic on the events forums to keep the players informed of my future events? Well, here it is. This will be the official topic that I will use to post my planned events ahead of time so you can make room in your schedule and so I can get your feedback on my events, or suggestions on how to improve them ahead of time. :)

Anyway, as things are now, for the next couple of weeks and perhaps more, I'm busy studying for the Chemistry SATIIs and some other junk, so my events will be more sporadic, but they should become more regulated over time.

Finally, I will be holding a type of treasure hunt tomorrow with the prize being an event coin. I'll bury around 10 bags at one spot, and each will contain a clue, leading to another location. This location will have 5 bags instead. Each of these will have clues leading to the next location, which will have 4 bags, then 3, then 2, and the last place will have a bag with an event coin. The initial clue will be massed out, so I suggest that when you see me go on tag, you turn masses back on if you have them disabled. Actually, I suggest you do this whenever any EM goes on tag so as to avoid flooding him with messages saying "R U going 2 hold t3h eventz now?!"

If you're on the staff list, you're mass messages override the mass message block thing
course, it's all too possible you're not on the staff list >=P
specially since GK uses debug

but back to the actual event, the thing about that kind of event
the first person to get there might just dig up all 10 bags just to get the advantage,
then nobody else will know where to go unless they know who dug up all the bags and then follow that person

Bag hunting events are very very lame.

Well, true, he can dig up all ten bags, but it is nearly impossible that no one else will arrive before he digs them all up. It'd be more efficient to simply keep following the clues and to get ahead. And, I believe that when the event starts, no one will be thinking of how to handicap the other players, but just more on what their clue means, and how to get there faster. :P

GoLink, if you dislike the event, then please suggest what you would like instead. That IS what this topic. The events I mention here are mere possibilities, the final outcome is based more on what the people want.

Sounds fun, but people will just screw it up, like 30 people shows up at the area with 10 bags and then when they have been dug up they just follow the people who got a bag =x

You have to understand
there are a suprising number of people who don't even look at the bottom right of their screen
Pirates had an event similar to this where you were under stict rules to dig up only one bury bag
but sure enough, somebody didn't know what they were doing and ended up digging up about 10 different bags and still didn't realize they had a single one

So does that mean its going to be on tuesday now?

Crap, I'm actually going to have to delay it to 9:00 PM EST. Yeah, I know, it sucks, but what can I do? I caught the late bus and I'm swamped with work. :[

Ouch, that really does suck, that's like, 2-3am here. Lol, i guess i wont bother staying up for the event, ah well :)

Bah, the bad luck train rolls on, and I'm delaying it to Tuesday. Oh well, I liked to hold events on Tuesdays anyway. Let's just hope an A-bomb doesn't land on my house or something.

11:58 am -> 11:59 am -> 12:00 am -> 12:01 PM -> 12:02 pm

Nope, 12:00am is midnight, 23:59:59pm is the last PM second before the next morning (am).

I even clicked up my digital alarm clock over to make sure I wasn't crazy.





About the event:

I strongly recommend not burying the event coin, have a note with a word no one else would guess, that they have to find and give to you. They can't forge it if they don't know the word, and you don't risk burying a coin.

Its too easy to loose items in sacks, and if there is a prob with the event's validity and who wins - you can still null the event without getting a staff to yank the item off the acct who got it.

Every alarm clock I have ever had changes the am/pm at 12:01.

Regardless, I was trying to disprove 0 o'clock

0 o'clock and 24 o'clock are the same thing
I've seen both used and understand both
and I've always seem 12am as midnight and 12pm as noon

asdf how do you getr 0 o'clock? You just skip the hour following 12am? You know.. 12:01 am - 1:00 am...

0 o'clock makes more sense if you use the time system where i live, because after noon instead of saying 1 pm, we say 13:00, then 2 o'clock is 14:00 and so on, untill you reach midnight where the time is then 0:00 so that 1 am is 1:00, altought 24:00 is used more than 0:00 ;O

Lads, lads, lads. who really gives a crap about am and pm and zm and qm? its 12pm for noon, and 12am for midnight. 12pm for noon, and 0am for midnight. If you disagree, i jab you with a rusty watch strap, ok?
