Linux RC

1 Attachment(s)
TEH WIN.
Really, it rocks. It also comes with a graphical flavour but I was too lazy to download it yet, and also I value my screen space.
It comes with all the features, the edit attributes dialog is niftily organized and the file browser comes with its own text editor.

SSJ2_Gogeta 05-10-2004 12:03 AM

Awesome, I can't wait till we can have it.

Thallen 05-10-2004 12:06 AM

Looks great!

Lance 05-10-2004 12:16 AM

Were I to use linux, I would most certainly use that RC. :)

Curt1zzle 05-10-2004 03:46 AM

I'm jelous, I want that skin for my normal RC ;)

xManiamaNx 05-10-2004 09:32 PM

Very nice. I like the default Openbox 3 style too ;)

Loriel 06-24-2004 02:03 PM

I find that one style nicer than many of those I have seen on theme sites :P

I still dont know whats with linux. I prefer windows. Plus people are now attacking linux os's than window os's.

Is it for people who cant afford windows? I do run linux but as a virtual pc. I dont see whats so great about it.

Crono 06-24-2004 04:50 PM

John, it's the whole fact that people are anti-microsoft. I'm not, I use windows and I damn like but BUT MANG THAT RC IS SEXY >:O

Some people use Linux because of they are anti-microsft, some because they feel it is better, and some because it is Free*.

I personally run Linux only because I feel it is better and because it is Free.

*Free as in freedom, not free beer

Loriel 06-24-2004 05:40 PM

And so is almost all Linux software, especially free software. See our point?

JohnGames 06-24-2004 06:12 PM

I get your points; I just use everything windows since I reproggramed the look of mine. :) Now windows move and its more fun to browse stuff

ALso I use Windows because you get more control.

Yea, because when an operating system hides every thing it does from you, that is called control. Having the kernel open source is so not control.

By control I mean options. Not the code.
But who cares what os we run. Unless its apple.

What options are you speaking of? There are configuration files for EVERYTHING in Linux. Including the X server. I would *love* to see a MS Windows box with a display configuration as thorough as X.

That is just one of manu examples.

VeX_RaT_Boy 06-25-2004 02:29 AM

Microsofts configuration: regedit

Daniel 06-25-2004 05:07 AM

I wouldn’t call regedit a hack tool; it just gives you the possibility to edit your registry. :)

Daniel 06-25-2004 05:41 AM

It’s not the regedit program itself that’s being used to make those so called hack program.
Hmm but this is getting a little offtopic isn’t it?;)

Daniel 06-25-2004 05:48 AM

hmm no, those programs edits the registry, not regedit.
regedit is the program that came with windows to edit the registry :)

Because you are a mere consumer and no hacker :P

Loriel 06-25-2004 02:32 PM

Except the registry is not exactly documented and the MS support will probably slap you if you modify it...

Loriel 06-25-2004 02:33 PM

No, that is not true. The programs edit the registry.
But Regedit is one of the few possibilities to really hack Windows still. I like it.

Scott 06-25-2004 06:09 PM

What the hell? I'm getting sick of this John guy deleting his posts.

Loriel 06-25-2004 09:23 PM

If he deleted all of them...

Thought 06-25-2004 11:03 PM

Now if they could only un-stupidfy the Windows RC and make it look like that one. (With the menus and all instead of buttons.)

Loriel 06-26-2004 12:30 AM

Stefan likes the buttons. The Linux one has buttons. And I can disable them! Woot!
I think Stefan could make a Windows built of the Linux RC :/

Scott 06-26-2004 12:34 AM

I almost want to just use Linux because of that RC. :( Is the Mac one similar to the Linux one?

Loriel 06-26-2004 12:52 AM

I do not think we have a mac one.
