Why can't account be three letters or less, instead of five letters or less? I wish to make and upgrade a new account, called OtA, but I cannot.

I do see people with accounts that only have three letters, so what happened?

Over the years the minimum characters was increased, naturally.

You might be able to get it by special request, though, through request from unixmad/Stefan, if you manage to contact them.

Accounts with special characters will be problematic for the hosting (for example, a vhost !Wan.vip.graal.net isn't really allowed in dns protocol, even if it may work for some people).
I don't know for the three letters limitation, but dots (for example) are forbidden. If dots were working, the GraalHosting would have problems to handle it.

Another reason : when people can make that short accounts, they can try to get the shortest account possible and people will start fighting to get the shortest account names... just look how much someone can sell a 6-digit ICQ number... we don't want that kind of fights on graal, so 3 letters account are not allowed.

Sorry, but that made no sense at all, Tux. I don't want, "The smallest account possible" I want my name to be the account I own, not too much to ask really. Graal still makes 20$ off it ;)

It should say "Assistant Accounts Admin" I believe, but technically he is one of the accounts admins i suppose. Kinda misleading.

But as long as the account is pre-existing that change, 3-letter names are okay.

I just didnt upgrade it to gold because my LordZen already had the global rights and modship.

I was supposed to be Lyndzey's Asst which is the Account Manager and she is the Account Admin but it seems at the moment it is in limbo. ( Not sure why since Unixmad approved it and asked for a list of things I needed but hasn't answered me or done anything in the last 6 weeks about it. :frown: ) It is also why my sig says "Limbo" now.. >_<

What I had is what is on the Graal Guild page which is "Accounts Manager" which is below the Accounts Admin and always has been. You went from Accounts Manager to Accounts Admin if you moved up.

wtf?! I don't even know why 3 letters was allowed in the first place. 3 or 4 years ago when I wrote the first web-based applications for graalonline.com, I never allowed 3 characters. Someone must have changed it....because I highly doubt you've had 'OtA' since before the web applications.
