Need a scripter
 

Valan is looking for a talented, mature and nice scripter to help us with our project.

The team has been cut down to just two people, myself and Galdor, and things are going well on the level and graphical side.

Kat was very kind to help us out for some time, but since he didn't believe in where our concept was heading he decided to leave. Best of luck wherever you are off too. ^__^;

Everything on the server is new and custom made, since we are tired of all classic clones. We want to make something new, and we are doing it. If you dislike new ideas and concepts then this probably isn't for you.

You do not have to work as a full time staff if you apply for this position, just provide us with scripts when you have the time. You will of course be given full credit for all your work.

Lastly, here are some rough screenshots. The tileset is old, objects unedited and such, but it'll give you some idea of what we are doing.

Who does your GFX? And that looks like a total different camera angle to usual :megaeek: :megaeek: :megaeek: :megaeek: :megaeek:

I'm sorry about the screens not working, I use a free host so... but usually they'll be up if you check in again in a little while.

Both me and Galdor makes the graphics, the tileset you see was the first one Galdor made. It's old now and he doesn't like me using it since he's making a new... but I'm bad. :p

The objects, such as houses, tree and whatnot in those pics, were made by me, and yes they are 3d models. Not all that pretty, but I'm still learning. ^__^;

yeah, it looks pretty good, but it's all in different perspectives...

I would like to see a server with that style of gfx though, looks rather interesting

Yeah... the concept and the style of graphics just don't agree with me. Anyway, I hope you guys can manage to find someone. Scripters aren't easy to come by.

I've noticed that too. It seems everyone just runs straight for tiling. Well, I guess that IS the most simple job in terms of knowledge required.

Nice graphics, but i think they are way to squeare..

The houses are supposed to be that way, but I see what you mean on the other objects, such as tables. :)

Don't give me that crap, read what it says.. IT IS AGAINST THE RULES TO POST A QUOTE WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING, even if the quote contains 200 sentances.

Back on topic we go. And you need to judge the rules to see what they say, it was a valid quote considering he wanted the same thing, as was said.

2. the screenshots finally loaded... and unless the graal character is supposed to be a little kid, all the gfx are way too big (looks like the door handle is about face-high)

I was beginning to think I was alone on that. :P

When Valan was still active (I'm not really sure it is anymore) it was supposed to be a total remake of Graal. No graal related graphics was supposed to be in it. That includes characters, so no, players would not be that small. Also those screenshots were pre-alpha, so it's natural they look a little odd.

I'm sorry, sir, but anyone who claims to be 'extremely good at scripting' is most likely not so. Even people like Kaimetsu, Loriel, or any of the rest of the global scripting team do not claim to be 'extremely good' at scripting.
