The End
And so it comes to this. Khallos, the last of the Venmyrs, is leaving. Some people will be happy, some will be sad, some will be ignorant.
I've had great times on Graal; some of the best moments of my life have been on it. But now it is losing its charm. I no longer find it that fun. I feel it is mainly EAs and IWDs that have contributed to this: its not fun when you agree to a friendly spar against someone 5 levels lower than you and find you can't hit them because they have about -60 AC. Also, I feel that nowadays the emphasis on Kingdoms is on levelling, and hardly anyone actually roleplays. (No bashing/dissing of GK intended) Dustari was the only Kingdom I've ever been in, and I hope it continues to flourish under the reigns of future monarchs. I'm posting this thread here so that all of the citizens of Dustari may know, as all have been part of this great Kingdom. I've had many great friends too: Padren, Zoe, Satrek, Gririhan, Majin and Rhynor, Darklux, Larrien, and Shobre ( to a certain extent). I apologise if I've missed anyone. If you can't bear me going, my AIM is: xXKhallosXx So, I wish you all good times on Graal. :) Khallos looked around him. The rotting walls, the chipped floor, stained in places, the stagnant air- he felt at home. Now it was cleansed of the unworthy, it would do as his final resting place for the remainder of his unlife. He gazed into the corner, his vision perfect in the darkness. There he spied the one remaining creature his minions had missed. With a cruel smile upon his face, he muttered an incantation, made a few mysterious passes with his hand, and laughed out loud at the bloody implosion which consumed the creature following these actions.Turning round, he noticed his hand-picked minions lurching unsteadily towards him. Their peers would remain behind on the world, to haunt the living, and rise up to stop any adventurer foolhardy enough to tresspass on his domain. With but a thought, his mastery of the dead unparallelled except by his brother Ilyich, who had long ago left for far-off shores, he sent them to their positions, the eight skeletons taking their places on each corner of the octagon which had been painstakingly painted on the floor with the blood of the rotting house's previous inhabitants. This was where he wanted to be. This was where he belonged. Taking a deep breath of the stagnant air, he sighed as if enjoying the putrid smell. This was where he would stay, unless some foolish mortal awoke him some day in the future. Taking a final deep breath, he began the last incantation he would ever make. Many brave adventurers continually battle against the ever returning minions of the great Necromancer Lord, and to this day they still tell tales of ghostly voices they can hear, chanting the same phrase: "As you are, we once were. As we are, you shall be..." On a lighter note, I leave you with this little jewel I discovered in some of the old Dustari threads: Quote:

You were cool.
Nice quote BTW ;o |
Sorry to see our last Venmyr depart...maybe you'll be able to return sometime. For necromancers at least, death isn't nearly as dull as it is for the rest of us.
Take care. |
You and I have been good friends, Khallos. It is sad to see you go. I shall miss you.

Satrek watched as Khallos entered a remote house. He was standing on a hill, hidden by a huge oak, almost half a mile away. The reason he knew it was the Necromancer were the skeletons following him. As a follower of Bile, the Archmage had almost as keen a vision in the dark, yet his affiliations with the undead was not as close as Bile wanted it to be. While he did not know what the man was up to, he had a hunch that it was something definite.
Approaching the house after a few minutes, something like a flash, or burst, made him flinch. Yet, there was no sign of light that would have caused a reaction from animaly arround. It must have been the arcane effect of some kind of ritual. Through a window, Satrek saw all he needed to see to make his hunch a proven fact. While he had never aproved of the Necromancer's ways, as they were too offensive, and not subtle enough for his taste, he had quite liked the undead. He likely had a reason to do what he did. Bending down, he grasped two hands full of earth and tried to remember a spell he once came across. It wouldn't to to keep away those who were insisting, but the occasional wanderer would just pass by this haunted mansion. Throwing the earth on the house, it's forms wavered for a moment. As the Archmage slowly walked away towards his home, it became almost translucent for uncanny eyes. Till we meet again, old Bone ((Sad to see you leave, Khallos, but at least you're ready for some foolush mortal to knock on your door, i.e. you might return one day, and I hope you will.)) |
:( this means satrek will put his stick with nail away for a long time. Khallos me and my brother salut you it was a honor serving with you.
|
Bye khallos. We didn't know each other well at all, i guess, but you seemed like a decent guy. Sad to see the number of good RPers decline further, too :(

Although I cannot approve of the source and scope of your powers, it is sad to see another great Dustari heading off.
