tables
I think it would be fun if house owners could put stuff on the tables in their house so people could ooh and aah over their nifty collections, but the stuff wouldn't be for sale at all.
Sure you can tell me to just go make a market stand, but those things look like they shouldn't be put indoors (with thier tops and all...), where as my tables are sitting there and looking cool, but not realy displaying anything, or doing anything usefull. |
Not a bad Idea, you could put like flowers, and other things on it too, and to go with the idea, shouldn't there be like craftable things to go on tables? Like vases, bouqets ect...?
|
thats a good idea, too!
though I like the idea that only the owner could put stuff on, or take stuff from, the table, it would also be fun if you could eat a meal from the table, too. Also, vases, etc, would make a good use for the flowers that you can buy that don't have much of a use. |
it would help you find stuff easier also, so you don't have to look through like 4 chests.
You could like put all the perfumes to buff charm and stuff... and items you use daily |
this is a good idea :)
another thing I know some people have been thinking about for a long time was some kind of 'house mode', where you could grab furniture or click on stuff without lifting up half of your stuff. that might be nice to see, too... (then I could hug my monkey without having to worry about half my floor getting messed up ^^). |
I agree, sometimes I move stuff around, but then I mess up the carpet, the bed and something else, and the same for my monkeys, I have to put feeders infront of them to eat, and sometimes I grab carpet instead...
|
it would be nice if they could find the feeder a bit better on thier own. Its annoying when I'll come in, and the thing's almost starved to death while there is a feeder in the middle of the room at 30% or more...
|
"ever burning torches" might also be a fun addition, granted they'd probably be quite expensive.

I had a bronze castle once. I have no idea how I got it... I think a friend put it there.
As for the lights of ther colors, I think I know what you mean... if you light a torch with a stone lamp, it has a white-ish-pink-ish color or light, where as if you light it with a wooden lamp, its more of a red-orange. o.o Candles would also be a fun addition... they'd go well on the tables. (I know we had candles once, I think as some kind of memorial to 9/11... I havn't seen them for a long time, though.) |
everlasting torches sound nice, and colored torch fire would be awsome, also the everlasting ones would be good for shops, couse how many times have you gotten (enter swear) becouse someone left right away couse the torches were out? oh and i got another house thing idea, the auto fixer, you just fill it with wood nails and stone (wich it can onyl hold those) and when your house gets a little low it fixes it automaticly ^_^

--Chris-- suggested the "out stuff on tables" thing a long time ago. It would be fun. I like some of your other ideas too.
|
Vases for flowers, stuff on table, shelves displaying potions, all has been suggested before, and some I believe is being worked on. Torches are supposed to burn for a few hours, stone lamps for a day, but something's wrong with them. It was also suggested (and Stefan even liked the idea) to be able to putt coal into stone lamps to 'charge' them - I wouldn't mind to be able to putt a few gems inside to get a certain color.
|
o.O gems in lamps to change the color... make it work on all lamps... the stone ones are ugly when then lights are out.
As for the tables, I don't see why it would be all that hard to make. I supose you could use parts of the market table script for putting objects on it, but make it so the items placed can't be bought, and only can be picked up by the owner. Or something. o.o |
i think these suggestions have been made like 10 times now
sad thing they never add anything :( |
'gotta nag them harder, I guess.
|
Stefan's converting the mudlib right now, and it should be easier to add stuff like that afterwards, or so I was told, as most pieces of furniture are part of the mudlib.
|
mudlib?
what is that? (my guess would be some kind of registry of items and thier behavoirs, etc) |

probably class scripts, now that I give it a not as much lack of thought ^^
