House Commands.
Master House Command.
Yeah, that's basically it. Let's say you're in a house that you have the master key to. When you're in this house, a little house icon could appear in the upper-left-hand corner of your screen, and when you click on it, a list appears on your screen which you can scroll through, and select for it to be on or off. A few examples would be: Store mode (If you're using this house as a shop, the icon on the map would change, so you could easily see where all the shops are on the island.) Spell-casting mode (It could have a sub-screen for this, which allows you to select which spells are allowed to be cast and which aren't.) Furniture-move mode (As it is now, only the holder of the master key can move furniture, but this option could allow them to extend that power to people who hold key duplicates, or to everyone.) There are probably more options that can be added later. Comments, Suggestions, Flames? |
All are fine, I beleive the point of no spells was so no one alchemizes their whole house though.
|
Actually, it's so other people can't light all your furniture on fire. Well, that's what I think.
|
Yeha, because at least Alchemy would leave you with a Fort-Knox equivalent of gold
|
Good Concept. Ever being done? I doubt it.
|
The ideas aren't too bad, but I think there would be cases of people incinerating their belongings or something, then shout for a restore. Also, I have no problem with the furniture-mode as it is. A different symbol for shops would be nice, though. On the same subject, would it be possible to remove the small tower-like thingy from the house-marker, the housing-areas on kingdoms are overcrowded enough ;)
|
I just wanna be able to put things on table for decorative purposes = /

Well, if people incinerate their houses, it's their own damned fault for not turning off those spells, and being dumb enough to cast it there. The staff have no reason to restore them.
|
maybe there should be take all items if you house is close to collapse
|
They are quite nice ideas, as are the ones with decorations on the tables and armour/weapon racks, i like that one!
Another idea for houses is for something to be done about spare keys. You should have the option to either change the lock on the house itself (so that already made key duplicates don't work) or to have all current duplicates deleted somehow... This'd solve problems such as what happened with ziro and the pirates warehouse or whatever. |

I got more options, make house bigger(cost:100 plat +100 wood, 200 nails, and 60 stones for 1st extension, there can only be 3 extensions, each extension being twice as much material. Also give house, enter the account name of who you want to give it ti, and it will say are you sure, say yes to give the house, when you right click it, it will say the account you gave it to instead of yours, also, take away key, if you are the account owner of the house, (meaning if you right click it, it has your account name) then you can take the key away from someone, you can say take from all, or take from___, if you choose take from___ type there account name there, and youll get there duplicate key and/or master key that lets them go to your house. one last one, when there someone in the house with the key thats in that wont get out, when you wont, theres a kickout option, kicking him out. another one, you can hore a npc to guard your place, 10 plat, it will hurt every thing that hits pillars or whatever. thats all.

I like the suggestions though, especially the take from __ commands, and the kickout commands |
Some safe way to trace a house would be nice, specially if the house would crumble anyway due to someone not playing, but still having 'uncertain' keys arround.
As for making houses larger... I'd like to see extra rooms, say a left and right wing, with visible gfx from the ourside, but these should require extensive rescources - and gfx. You'd basically need a complete new set of animations and ganis for the building, as well as new gfx for the actual oursides (I believe forest kinda already has that), plus some kind of approval process... the insides of the main house would have to be altered, too, to add a door and remove the windoes. In effect, I'd say making another house is a lot easier (*points at the Horn Estade*). |
Yes, I like these new ideas mentioned. And adding on to the hosue was a concept that has always been around, but I don't think any staff are ever going to do it.

Well, we still wouldn't have a reason to fix them.
|
there should also be something called borrow, its like my give option but they only have it limited, they cant use give or borrow when there borrowing, neither can they take your key.

i agree with those who say giving away/sharing houses should be safer
and i love chris' idea about placing stuff on tables... it would be like mine carts... tables, flower pots, weapon/armor racks... and why dont you make it so that the barrel you can made on cp island can only hold liquids.. it would make it easier to store like 500 water btw: extending houses.. i _think_ some staff member said it would be near to impossible... wasnt stefan thru so there is still hope ;) |
I don't think Extending is impossible, but there is waaay too many houses.
If you added that, and say 1/2 of the 500 + houses extended twice, thats an extra 2 levels per house, which is another 500+ levels. I Think more customizable outsides of the houses (ability to use all the different wall/rooftypes of a kingdom) would a be wonderful addition. And I like the being able to put stuff on tables idea, and the Kick/Key commands. Spells are disabled for a reason, leave it be, but other than that the menu sounds good. New furniture would be nice. (Armor racks ::drool::) |
The reason I suggested spell disabilities is because it'd be nice to be able to do alchemy in your home (Though that'd be horribly unsafe.) Or to be able to cast Create Food or Restoration. I plan on creating a player-made town on Zormite complete with player-run shops and an inn, run by myself. Well, I'll do this after I'm content with my level...which is going to be in quite some time. X_X
|
Reason why spells are disabled in houses...
The day houses came out... we we're all waiting on pirate island as Stefan was building the first house to show us how it's done... after a while... it was finished and he let us all in. We all went in and went "Why is it so dark?"... so then Stefan goes and comes back with house torches... he put them up and then some guy ran in doing flaming aura trying to kill someone... but then burnt the torches that Stefan laid down. I don't remember what Stefan said but afterwards spells we're disabled in player houses. |
lol, funny. But, I still say it is a good idea to be able to choose what spells are disabled and which aren't. The list should start with all spells disabled, but then you could enable the ones you want to use.
|
It may be a good idea to have an option of enabling spells. I think I would leave them off though, accidentally hitting the wrong hotkey and being unable to unwield the wand in time, just to see half the storage burst in flames... no ;)
|
That'd be so funny. >D
It's like, you're walking along on your kingdom, then suddenly a house lights on fire and then you're like "Aw, crap, someone did it again..." |
