Class Strategy?
Class Stategy! Yay!...
Well, Classes are really how we want to play our character... There are 6 classes, alknown, the Warrior, Barbarian, Thief, Priest, Alchemist, and Sorceror. Warrior Description: Warriors are noble people, mainly in Royalty. They are pretty good, however won't help you much. I would consider Warrior a good class to start with, seeing it's a rather easily played class, and doesn't do too much penalities. STR + 2 DEX + 1 CON + 1 INT - 2 WIS + 0 POW - 1 CHA + 0 TOTAL + 1 Barbarian Description: Overwhelming all the other classes in the physical properties, the Barbarian is picked over because of it's easily excelled start. Although they are good, they are quite expensive to maintain if you think you want the guy educated. As you can see, it's intellegence is minus 6, meaning that you'll spend a lot of money buying spell-books, and skills. STR + 3 DEX + 2 CON + 3 INT - 6 WIS + 0 POW - 1 CHA - 2 TOTAL - 1 Thief Description: I wouldn't recommend this class to the newbies, nor the oldbies. This class is totally useless, and only use would be to make your life a challenge to survive. Though, I don't know why it's stats are like that, seeing as Thief. Seeing a thief should interact with people more, it would've gotten a lot more charismatic, though this is not the case with this guy. STR + 0 DEX + 3 CON - 2 INT + 1 WIS + 0 POW - 1 CHA - 3 TOTAL - 2 Preist Description: This class is the best in my opionion. It gives you a good ammount of stats, plus the option to get yourself a deity. The priest is a somewhat mix of fighter and spellcaster. STR - 2 DEX - 2 CON - 1 INT + 0 WIS + 3 POW + 2 CHA + 2 TOTAL + 2 Alchemist Description: This class isn't very useful. The only reason why I'd choose this class would be to get the Caudron in the start island. The Caudron can be traded, and can carry 800 lbs. It is good to get ore from the start of the game this way, and stash it in the caudron, making you be able to transport it into main. STR - 3 DEX + 0 CON - 1 INT + 3 WIS + 1 POW - 1 CHA + 0 TOTAL + 1 Sorceror Description: This class is rather good to an extent. The class has some good magic abilities, and would make you learn VERY well. However, trying to go as a fighter would be hopeless without help of some Potion of Strength/Constitution. STR -3 DEX +2 CON -3 INT +3 WIS -2 POW +3 CHA +0 TOTAL + 0 In all, I think that the Priest class is boasted beyond the rest, however, depending on what you want to be in your RP character, you should choose wisely. AVOID-REPOST: I restart too often. |
I'm alchemist :D
|
I was alchemist, but I figured, "hey, with improvment potions and the ability to learn any god damn skill, what's the difference?"
|
I am a Priest, i RP as a Mage/Priest.
|
I'm a sorcerer, but I do wish I had chosen Priest. Oh well, I guess I'm all right :)
|
I'm a Sorc.
I find it's stats pretty decent, aslong as I decide to stay with them! 19 INT, 18 POW... He barely forgets anything. My stats are. Str 15 Dex 19 Con 13 Int 19 Wis 15 Pow 18 Cha 14 As you can see, he's a rather strong Sorceror... :) Pretty useful for the time being. I've got Charisma and Constitution spells already, so I don't have to worry too much about them!... Other then that, I got WoodLore and Stealing Scroll that I got extra. As for equipement, erm... Decent stuff, however, I like my Ammy of Substance the most. |
Oh, statistics thread now? ^^
Experience: 18128149 Next Level: 18800000 Stat Nat/Real/Max Str 17/ 22/ 20 Dex 17/ 24/ 20 Con 15/ 16/ 20 Int 15/ 15/ 20 Wis 17/ 18/ 20 Pow 19/ 19/ 20 Cha 11/ 15/ 20 |
You made me change class, I'm now a priest >:]
|
Mouha!... :) Took some time to find out what the classes do!

I reset my account about 30 times before I got some good stats.. :) |
I reset my account every day... Erm... Makes about... Erm.. Over 100 accounts. Damn, I should have never learnt the /restart command!
Anyhow! use /inventory to know the starting scroll, and use /statistics to know your current stats, then use my tally thing to know what it WILL be according to which class, and then you can ReROLL if it's not good. That's how I usually start with Shopping Scroll, and 16 Charisma. :P I didn't this time because my roll I had was rare, so I didn't mind losing my scroll for it. |

Im a warrior... But I can use magic, and prayers XP
|
I'm a warrior/mage/priest... and pretty good at being one too... I can control the weather, heal, and dish out an asswhoppin at the same time!
|
I don't really see why this would matter.
Past a certain level classes become completely useless. :/ |
At the beginning, things would change your being a lot...
Perhaps let's say, you start Barbarian, and you wield a cursed item... You'll be spending a hell of a lot of work getting it off, seeing as you can't read. However, they tend to level up a lot faster (Power House?), I don't play usually above level 10... I've been at level 10 about 20 times! If you don't want to spend too much money, Priest would be a good class, seeing as you have a +2 Charisma, and no INT penelties, you tend to have a high INT base already (SP and Grace raise faster with higher INT), so you learn books rather easily. Whereas a Barbarian, whom has -6 INT, will have a hard time learning ANYTHING. Thus, at lower levels, the classes make BIG differances towards what your final character will be! I don't know about you, but I rather start with a +3 INT/POW, and get a lot of skills, then when I'm about strong enough, I learn how to fight. It's basically HOW we play. |
Doesn't matter anyway, because you can get potions and skills, and spells, and make everyone the same. The system sucks. I said it a hundred times.
|
I don't like the improvement potions or what ever, it's disgusting and if it was true we would all look like Arnny'. :)
|
They should fix the system so you dont have warriors using spells and healers and such going around beating the crap out of people with weapons -_-
|
I'm a barbarian, because of easy monster-killing and the fact that you can be anything you damned want due to lame-o scrolls and potions. My character has given up fighting with a sword and stuff now though...he's training as a priest despite the small word in my profile...it means nothing.
|
If wizards could only do magic, they would own barbarians that didn't have all them dragon amulet ****s and stuff. :) And priests, if avatars were faster/stronger, kick the **** out of both of em :O

Wizards can prepare magic. ;)
|
Forgot to mention:
Priests are the only class able to have a base stat over 20. I have 21 base wisdom. :) |

The way I see it is this:
If you can get 30 str without adding +str to your weapon you are amazing. Because instead of wasting 2 slots to add that you can add 10 damage. Now, that may not seem like much..but it is. 21 is a BASE stat. NOONE ELSE can get a BASE of 21 in ANY stat. |
It makes a differance to teh ****s who has no money, nor equipement... Thus, thier starting class would be the most critical on thier developement.
|
Classes should be the difference between players, not these retarded items not meant to be in the game.
|
Thus, Classes HAD a purpose once... Just that the items and stat potions debalanced it. Ohwell.
|
Actually, everyone can have 21 wisdom.
Though my base wisdom is 20, even when I wear nothing, it's 21 real. Hi, I'm a warrior. |
Yea. I know. However, it's much more apparent on the Priest.
Actually, the secret +1 to Wisdom is given in the start, before we choose our class. I don't know how they choose that we get it or not however. |
Honestly, class is mostly useless in graal, it's really not too hard to have straight 20s (Not including wisdom, which I have 21 of due to the invisible, permanent +1.) After you have 20s, you can pretty much claim any class, as far as I am concerned, class is for new players, for the fact that the only thing class changes is how you begin the game. My "class" is barbarian, but I RP a thief/assassin, and last I checked my lvl 27ish agility was the highest out there. Because trust me, at level 40 with level 18ish physique, I can't really be a barbarian. Once again, proving that starting class is irrelevant.

I started as warrior, and didn't want to restart when I chose the part of a mage - hence my character wanted to become a soilder at first but learned a lesson or two later. |
I'm a warrior, but I RP sorta a split personality. When it comes to my kingdom, I'm very protective and stern, but with anything else, I am a glib trickster, worshipping Aengus. :]
Now, if Rune of Death was effective, then I could have some real fun. =/ |

Anyway, yeah, i chose barb at the start...i mean, at the time i wanted to be a fighter and all, plus barb is powerful anyway...but now i want to be a priest without restarting, so i just roleplay a novice priest (who doesn't have much power at all, due to having only just converted ;) ) |
Oh, wait, I forgot. I am the god of quests, not you. *boggles* Heh, I have well over 5 speed (even though speed is irrelevant if you know what you're doing), but I've not been playing in a while, I did however share my wealth of knowledge with a few other people before I left though. I'll tell you just like I tell everyone, "n0obs can't figure it out, so the fact that you still haven't figured it out means only one thing.". *grins*
|
Priest here, in my opinion it IS the best choice. You get all the options! :D I mean yeah you have to EARN them but, hey no pain no gain! :D
